Giovanardi confirmed with BMW
ETCC 24/10/02 Fabrizio Giovanardi will join BMW for next year, it has now been confirmed by Umberto Grano from BMW. Giovanardi will drive for Ravaglia Motorsport that ran under the name BMW Team Spain this year. A young Spaniard which name isn't revealed yet will join Giovanardi. "It will be a completely new composition of the team where I'm currently investigating the possibility of getting a young promising Spaniard as second driver to Fabrizio," said Umberto Grano. Should be interesting what Giovanardi can do in the BMW. Any idea who the second driver may be?
Umberto Grano - He was the 1982 ETC Champ with Helmut Kelleners in a BMW 528i wasn't he? Amazing how even these days drivers still carry on with manufacturers after they finish driving. |

I think Giovanardi has won almost everything with Alfa Romeo , so possibly he's looking for new tasks . But it won't be easy with Ravaglia to have such successes again.
