lap timers
Hi all,
I want to buy a lap timer for my formula ford and wondered which is the cheapest and best to buy ? I've looked through demon tweeks and it seems as though the cheapest is £200.00. Ideally though I wouldn't mind a second hand one, can anyone recommend anywhere for second hand parts Thanks Tiptop |

TipTop,
Take a look at AIM (http://www.aim-sportline.com/AUTO/lighttg.htm) They used to do good neat packages around the 150 mark. Pretty good especially on larger circuits. Rgds JC |

The Kartronix timer.
About £80 from the back of Autosprout (or go for a Demon Tweeks special FF1600 price). Works off the circuit PI beacon too. Have you asked this before? Last edited by JohnMiller; 15 Dec 2004 at 17:31. |

Most do - certainly the ones I've had. The Farringdon one should but I could never get it to pick it up at Mallory on Channel 0 so gave up and used the beacon with its handy 'In' feature which lead to some amusing moments when the engineer accidentally switched to that channel and then wondered why I came in!. After we'd sussed that he would occasionally switch to it and wonder with his buddies on the pit wall how many laps it would be before I noticed it on the dash...

depends which works you drive for also which works car you are in. On the whole its an expense that has not proven that effective in Vee

I've got an astratech data logger on my kart and I'm about to start "long circuit" racing. Now how do I go about using the circuit beacon in conjunction with it?
