Fernando and Carlos stood out - brilliant battle, and actually enjoyable to hear Fernando enjoy a race for once!

Lewis just drove off into the distance and was just cruising after half way ...
I give it to Alonso ... Last edited by JeremySmith; 24 Oct 2016 at 00:00. |

Difficult to chose between the 2 Spaniards. Gave it to Alonso in the end.

Giving it to the Junior Matador, for getting the car higher than perhaps it should have been, and holding it on, till his tyres dropped off against Fred.

Alonso. Taking that McLaren to probably a place that it didn't belong to be.
Kudos to Sainz as well. Honourable mention to Lewis. That was some of the old magic that we used to see. Pole position(which is his first one at this track), a decent start(for once) and just drove off into the distance. Sadly, this sort of performance was probably needed earlier on in the season. But hey, he did good this weekend. |

Sainz or Alonso - one hamstrung by driving a car with last years Ferrari engine and one hamstrung by driving a car with this years Honda engine. Gave it to Sainz in the end as the Honda has been a bit less crap recently.

Top marks for LH and Alonso, but went for Kimi for doing something I don't think I have ever seen anyone else do in an F1 car.
Why his team didnt help him once he rolled back is a mystery but I can only speculate that they were caught unaware by the level of creativity of Kimi's solution to get back into pit lane. Stark contrast to Max who left his car in a dangerous place. |

Senor Alonso for getting over his early bout of moaning and picking the car up by the scruff of its neck and going for it! The move on Massa was a bit crude, and if there hadn't been baseball-field size run-offs it would have been disastrous, but he knew what he was doing, I guess........
Mention for Lewis of course for withstanding the constant "how does it feel to know you have to win all the races but might still not win the Championship?" questioning, but of course he had to do what he did and he had the car to do it...... |

Alonso closely followed by Sainz, although both benefited from a virtual SC I believe?

that was my impression as well.
there was that reprimand that Lewis received earlier this season for reversing in pit lane. cant recall the race, but if i recall correctly the breach was that a car could not reverse in the pits under its own power or some such wording. Kimi, from what i could tell, used the hill and gravity to roll his car back into the pits...i mean how brilliant is that!!! |

Alonso - easily. Wonderfully entertaining to watch, but ultimately frustrating to see him where he is when in a decent car he would be a main contender.
