Diesel racing series
There are a couple of racing series using Diesel race cars.
Here in Portugal we have a National championship for Turbo-Diesel cars. The championship also features VW Golf TDI, Fiat Bravo JTD 105GT, SEAT Ibiza TDI and BMW 320d. There is also in FRANCE some interesting SingleSeater Diesel racing and ... they also are ECOLOGICAL !? Yes it is true. They use Formula Campus chassis with Renault 1.9 Tdi engines. Slicks'n'wings. The organisers are (www.signature-team.com) a French F3 teamor (http://www.xl-event.com/monoplaces). To end this Diesel Tour there is an European Cup organised by Peroni Promotion (www.gruppoperoni.it/promotion/index.php?camp=10). There's a Golf TDi being used by, I think, Neuhoff in the VW Racing Cup.

re the VW Cup on Sunday
DId anyone else have a good laugh at Ray MacDowell in the restart of race 1? Does he never look in his mirrors?!? I was standing at the last chicane and he certainly didn't slow down until he saw the poor man on the grid with the yellow flag!! HAHA! LMAO! |

Top tip, you heard it here first...
Renault Clio Cup to be replaced with a series for Renaults with 300bhp diesels... Probably not for a year or two but might be interesting... Apparently one of the UK Clio Cup cars (Doug Ross) is back at Renault having the above engine fitted for testing the viability of the series. Cheers RicKP |

Sounds interesting. Keep us posted, as I am looking to buy a Clio for next year to run. Dont want it to end up like the fiestas! (worthless, slow cars!)

Hello!
Therer will be a Volvo S60 whith a volvo´s new D5 engine in the new serie for this year that will go as a supportclass in STCC. The engine has 320Hp and apx 490Nm. The car will this year run out of competition. best regards/ Richard |

As the VW Cup is part of the DTM support at Donington, the Golf Diesel TDi should be in competition there.
