The best club racing series ever...? and can you name it?
3 x club racers including myself (lots of stuff!), Craig Dawson (hot hatch) and someone else who I can't remember did Caterhams.
1 x top rally driver (Jonnie Wigmore - Ford Ka Champion) 1 x British GT driver (Steve Brady - Ultima) 1 x Spanish F3 driver (Emilio De Villota) and then 30 or more other drivers with talent/experience from total novice - to very good indeed. The series still runs to this day and uses only one small circuit with 8 rounds a year and all drivers in identical machines... slicks in the wet... weekday evening races, everybody went clubbing after the race. oh and it was in Karts. |

no its at the local arrive and drive kart circuit, in events run by students and for students.
And I hate to say it but is not the best club racing series in the uk, its a good laugh, its good fun, takes the stress out of Uni(????), and gets a few more people into motorsport. It would have been a good social event but nothing after the races were organised, ANyway enough of my rant and rave about this. |

sure there was - fuzzys!!!
I really think it was a great series tony - and yes I want a rematch! but I'm not a student anymore... shame really. The point of this TS is to enquire in a round about way - what is the best club series in the UK? and what does make a good motor racing series? |

Hmmm, AFAIK we only run in the BUKC and the Varsity race, but they aren't 8 rounds on one circuit!
And if we do have a set up I'm slightly concerned as I should nknow about it what with being on the motorsport club committee! |
