Many thanks to everyone who helped out at this meeting - we were very short on numbers and a few people were doing disciplines they don't normally do - what a contrast it will be at F3 / GT meeting where we will all be tripping over each other!!

I agree the F3 and GT racing is good but i still find the more local car club racing more exciting. i had a great day yesterday, but then MG meetings are always good, in my opinion.

Thankyou to all of the Marshals on behalf of the MG Metro Cup. Sorry we had you waving the reds, but I gather Mark's car was stuck broadside at Druids and going no where.
We're looking for a 30+ entry at Silverstone just to keep you on your toes - and please do come and say hello if you get some time over the weekend. |

I had a great day yesterday. Thanks to everyone involved. A wet start but everything dried up nicely for the afternoon. I really enjoyed myself again.
Well done everyone. |

Thank you for the kind words, and we are pleased that just about every one had an enjoyable day. Sorry about the low grids in the last two races, but I'm sure that you know this is a very rare occurance at our meetings
The MG Car Club sincerely thank all of you, who through your sterling efforts made our meeting a success, and also to echo Nadine's special thanks to those that were carrying out duties that they had not volunteered for. We had our trials and tribulations, with the changeable weather and race stops, but you all pulled out the stops that ensured a lunch break at a reasonable time and a respectable finish time, without any cut backs or time reductions. Praise is also due to the cicuit staff who had a very busy day with so many armco barrier repairs which unfortunately caused some lenthy delays in our programme. Finally, my personal and grateful thanks to Ken, Nadine, and Gordon for their help and co-operation in organising the Marshalling force, you made it all so easy for me, so you deserve the credit for a very successful day. John Watson Chief Marshal MG Car Club. |

I'm soooo glad I decided to do this one in the end!
I was flagging at Fosters, so I was as happy as larry! Highlights of the day....... Metro number 22 (Yellow) on 2 wheels into and through cascades every time....always looking like he was going to lose it big time!! Formula Ford Number 3 (or maybe 5....red anyway....orange crash hat)on the wet grass at cascades at about 200 mph and getting faster! Ended up on track pointing right way....cool! |

Just a quick thanks to everyone who made me feel so welcome & for not eating pork pies at Lodge on Saturday.
MGDAVID came from the back of the grid, after some reliability issues in practise to 2nd in class, so Mark M must have shown him some realy good lines and realy late brake points. |

My Renault Scenic was set up for the damp conditions, with a pretty solid suspension and a good set of intermediate tyres! |

PS - Forgot to mention that we listened to "Kool & The Gang's" Greatest Hits from the onboard sound system as we did the second (Flying) lap!

Borried a Kool and the gang CD and tried it a Loton Park this weekend. The CD tends to skip when you ride the kerbs but, I must have been driving faster as I had my biggest moment yet.

I love the MGCC meetings. Always something to photograph. A couple of the orange brigade in action. Hands up all who appear.
I'll have some prints from the last couple of meetings with me this weekend, so make sure you look me up. As usual, all marshal pictures are free. More MGCC stuff at: http://www.motorpix.co.uk/opmgcc.htm Last edited by KennyG; 13 Jul 2004 at 21:44. |
