Motors TV and their hilarious translations
I was just doing the ironing (as you do) and watching the French Carrera Cup coverage, and the (clearly English) commentator said
"and the car behind makes a BONSAI move down the inside" Honestly - is racing going too green? |

Probably just a commentator on the hedge of his know-how.

Perhaps it was a move in miniature.
Off to Armchair, I think. |

The guy from the Dutch Supercar Cahmpionship is a legend!
"And bang, he closes the door like on some Jehovahs witnesses." I was in tears for minutes after. |

I've often sat amazed at the quite appalling english translations that are done by a quasi US-French commentator on Motors TV. It reached its' nadir when I watched some of their 1970's F1 compilations. Absolutely FANTASTIC footage from the Elf Film Library COMPLETELY ruined (to the point that I couldn't actually watch them) by the awful voiceovers.

Hahaha, yeah. I have some of those 70's reviews they did from a couple of years ago and the commentary destroyed it big time.
It's usually that guy that takes over during the American ads in the NASCAR Busch races. He is annoying and I want him to be quiet. |

I remember watching something once and it put me to sleep. Monotone with long periods of silence.
I like the Dutch guy (I don't know his name) and the guys who cover the British gt's and BTCC and of course Mr Haven. |

I was watching this year's Bathurst 1000 top ten shootout and one of the commentators tried to say big guns but he swore on international TV.

Tony Delahunty has to be the worst. He almost ruined Motors TV coverage of Le Mans. Rather than Pescarolo he pronounced Pescalero and rahter than Dindo Capello he insisted on Dindi Capelli. His mispronounciation was funny at first but after 24hrs it really got rather infuriating.
But by far the worst I have ever heard was Tony Delahunty's pronounciation of Butch Leitzinger during this seasons ALMS race at Mid-Ohio. On numerous occasions during the 2.45hrs he called him BUZZ LIGHTYEAR. |

Ah, the Delahunty Pescalero nightmare! It's just unprofessional isn't it? Even after getting corrected bluntly by, of all people, Carlton Kirby he carried on for the entire race!
