Who deserves a full time WRC works drive?
In my opinion Manfred Stohl deserves a full time works WRC drive. He's proved over the years that he is a very decent driver, he has huge experience and has been Group N World Champion and had many Group N class victories. He wouldn't get a top works drive with Ford, Peugeot etc, but could get one with one of the smaller teams like Skoda or Hyundai.

After what Janne did for Ford in Sweden, he ought to get a works drive. I still think Auriol would have got a drive if Subaru were running more cars; either him or Jesus Puras.
After the frustrations of last year Mark Higgins should have had a chance with a works drive on this year's British Championship, but looking to the current S1600 crop then McShea or Dallavilla could be possible future candidates |

It's been announced today that Jani Paasonen will drive for Mitsubishi again on the Rally Finland.
If it goes well there could be more drives for him in the future. |

I would like to see Puras back with a big team. I thin Arai has had his chances, but failed to really prove himself last year - this season should decide his fate. I agree that Stohl deserves a WRC drive.

I think Puras is a huge talent on asphalt but what about gravel, mud or ice.Is he a tarmac specialist and no more?.If so i think a full works drive would be out of the question.

The great undiscovered talent is Dom Buckley. Asphalt or gravel he can fly. Note how he managed to beat the WRCs with an old GpA at Knockhill. Dom's your man.

Dom Buckley was one of the VW junior team about 10 years ago. He now runs a family auto business near Duns ( Jim Clark country) and does occasional drives where he blows the wheels off anyone. He has a younger brother Neil who does Gp N.

There are several on that list which deserve one:
Tuohino, Stohl, Paasonen, Lindholm. There is also Mark Higgins and Neil Wearden. |
