So you like sportscars ..well what car either current or old models would you like to take for a spin?

personally i would love to take a panoz out for a ride or the mercedes cars that flipped at Lemans (thankfully i wouldnt be going fast enough to flip)
of the older cars i think maybe a lovely ford GT40 (i think thats what they were called) great car which still looks great today.

JUDGE should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
My fav all time cars would have to be the Porsche 917/10 "Longtail" and the Lola can-am with the big bodywork(can`t remember the model #)that raced a few years ago in Thundersports driven by John Foulston(father of the infamous Nicola) & John Brindly

Mercedes CLK-LM (the one from 1998 Le Mans). Panoz, GT40, XJR-15, 917/10, Toyota GT-One...come to think of it, any sportscar would do.

Elephino,

Excellent choice of GT40, 917 and XJR!

Personally, and in addition, I'd go for a Silk-Cut Jaguar, Jaguar XJ13 (that prototype thing - the most beautiful car ever), a McLaren M8 CanAm beast and a TVR Speed 12 or new Cerbera GT.

First Airfix kit I ever made was the 917.
First movie dad ever took me to see was "Le Mans". What was it Steve McQueen drove?

Works for me...

It's okay, guys, just in case anyone thought I was actually unsure about the answer to my movie question. I'm cool.

I can tell a 917 with my eyes closed at a hundred yards.

If I had the cash - which I don't - I wouldn't mind a season of Pre'72 competition in a Lola T70 Mk3.

This summer, I had the chance to play with someone else's Daytona for five miles. Came away thinking that if this car is quick, just how awesome is a Matra MS650, or a Ferrari 512S, or a 917/10, or any of those things that used to lap the Daytonas at Le Mans after about three circuits.

Thinking about it, any of these will do in my stocking this year.
You listening, Santa?

PS The Can Am/Thundersports car that John Foulston had was a Lola T530. Anyone know where it is now?

Think he also had a T610.

How about a ride in a Ford GT 70 if any still exist!!
Last i heard of the Foulston T530 it was still owned by the restoration team that John set up to look after all his cars, but then i was told Nicola or Mary had sold the company.
BTW that car had special bodywork do you know what it was called ??

I would love to drive almost any of the vintage or current machines. Some of my favs would be a Ferrari 333SP because of how sweet it sounds, the Panoz Spyder because of how over the top it is, and a Lola B98/10 becasue of the lovely Judd motor.

Yep - that 333SP has an amazing sound.

Perhaps someone should start a post of what the best-sounding GT/ sportscar is.

I would love to take a MARCH 707 for a spin. If you have ever heard and smelled one you will know why. I saw them at the Marlboro Masters this year in Zandvoort. I was standing at a distance of about 4 meters to the MARCH driven by Charly Agg. It was great!!! but it took several hours before my ears were functioning normaly again.

Is this a 707? I remember it was called 'The Flying Pizza' when I saw it at Donington a few years back. The programme is in the attic (somewhere).

Yes it is, but what i remember most about the car is the noise of the engine end the smell it left behind.

If I could have any car it would be either a C5 Corvette, Viper GTS, or Shelby Cobra 427 S/C. I don't know what order I would choose them in.
