The new Maserati Quattroporte
Now THAT is what I call a proper up-market saloon. Makes the German alternatives look like the over-stuffed techno barges that they really are. Anyone agree?

www.evo.co.uk - click on gallery and select the model.
It does look stunning in the pictures. But I don't see it competing in the luxury saloon sector - people who buy 7-series, S class, LS430 won't be tempted because they're used to rock solid reliability and ergonomics, not Italian "quirks". The buyers who may be tempted are those who've bought Ferraris or Maser GTs before and now need four doors and a little more luxury. Not exactly a huge market though... Don't be so sure. Italian car quirks these days aren't annoying like in the bad old days.
Saw this thing in the flesh at the Sydney Motor Show. It is big, but looks unbelievable up close. Certainly the best looking of the fast luxo sedans. Apparently Maserati sold about 10 of them up front at the Show. |

I'm not too impressed by it.
Looks like the old Daewoo Leganza from the rear. Not very Maserati-like. |
