Maybe you should have kept a better ratio in the first place...?

I would also appreciate an invite. I lost my account due to inactivity. The reason for that was because i moved house and didnt have a proper internet connection for 8 months. No doubt some won't believe me but if anyone does and wishes to invite me that would be appreciated.

It is a problem, I have a slow upload speed so don't download much these days. Saying that, though members are encouraged to keep a positive GB Difference (i.e. uploaded more the you've downloaded), as long as you don't take the pee with, say, a -300GB difference, then normally you'll be fine. Even saying that, I've seen members who have downloaded 280GB but only uploaded 55GB, that haven't been banned because they have at least shown that they've tried to contribute (or maybe they just got through the net ).

My advice to people with a slow up rate would be, behave in the way of the tortoise, as you can't be the Hare. Try and have Utorrent (or whatever program you use) open as much as possible so you can seed (upload) data from the files you have downloaded. I built a 100GB+ uploaded data cushion by keeping my computer on overnight for a couple of weeks, I subsequently squandered this on CART races and F1Digital+ footage, which has left me with a -7GB difference.

ugh, i'm obsessed with my gb difference at the moment, i've not downloaded much thanks to not having much storage space but the damn slow upload rate is such a problem! i guess it's bt limiting uploads on torrents or something.

If you're on an ordinary ADSL connection the upload speed is always a small fraction of the download speed

That's what makes it an Assymetrical Digital Subscriber Line...

i struggle to get more than 25kb/s when seeding like chunder, which seems to be about half what others get, and i've got a 5mb line with about 512k-ish upload. someone with the ability to do maths is going to say that's normal now...

Sounds like you may not be fully connectable , have a look at your utorrent when it's running and if you have a green tick at the bottom you are able to connect properly with other peers , if it is red then you may have a problem with not having you port forwarding set up properly or a conflict with a firewall .

You can also check if you are connecting properly by going to a torrent you are uploading on RU and checking the peers list , which is the little p icon next to the torrent name , to see if you are connectable or not , it should have a yes if you are connectable or no if your not , next to your username on the peers list .

Hope this helps :-)

No, I'm not here asking for an invite.

But, I am curious about the site. How well is Le Mans represented in available content? Do they have a selection of the LM races from the 60's, 70's and 80's?

Reading different posts, I gather it is predominantly recent F1 content?

Thanks for any insight.

I seem to recall seeing the 1968 Sebring 12hrs on there once - does that put it into perspective?

Alas, my isp got nasty when they saw how much my internet usage had become & restricted me so I lost all my upload rations & got revoked.

Am now with Sky for t'internet who garuntee that unlimited internet means unlimited - so if anyone has the oppertunity to let me back into the club, I will be able to be a good sharing member.

I'd also like to beg for an invite. I got kicked before because I leeched more than I seeded. I wouldn't do it again.

Please.

Hey, I'm a new open wheel racing fan looking for somewhere to download some races from. I keep running across Racing Underground as being the place to find races. I, too, would love an invite. I've never been a member, and never been kicked.

I appreciate it.
