Frank Gardners 2nd Generation SCA camaro

Can anyone point me towards some good photos of Gardners SCA camaro?

I'm picking up on the history of the car... Anyone know if it ended up in Europe or when it was last seen on the track?

Thanks Guys!

I reckon I have seen that video Al.. I recall seeing some "in car laps" but don't remember the race stuff.. probably the same video, but I'll check!.. Appreciate the tip!!

Any idea where the car came from?.. Theres a suggestion that it came from the States as a race car, but it was always my understanding that it was built in the UK from a road car shell.. Was that just wishful thinking or is there anything to support either suggestion?

I will have a dig about in some of my specialist Camaro books and see if can find anything. I believe Duke Video may stll have the video in stock, I am sure I came across it while looking for IROC stuff.

Incidently if you are interested I made good progress on my early 2nd gen at the weekend and apart from a little problem with the Holley carb I need to sort out I would have fired it up. Few more weekends work and she wll be ready to rumble.

The only race history is by yours truely Jeff, I originally built it in 91 and raced it for about 5 years before building the 3rd gen, I then re-bodied most of it as a 1970 car and have rebuilt it to CTCRC pre 74 regs with the proper heads, handbrake and everything. When I pull her out the garage I will take some shots and post but at the moment although I resprayed it about 8 years ago it needs a minor bit of attention also because of the CTCRC regs I cannot run with the 79 hood bulge and hole for aircleaner so I have sourced a standard bonnet that will need spraying.

Also I have an original set of 1970 GM stencils for the RS strips for the car and an going to scan these in on my large format scanner and reproduce them in vinyl. If you want a set at anytime let me know as that is my business (vinyl and graphics etc).

I might well do if I can get it together, that or the TopHat or a bit of both. I was looking at the Thruxton times and I see an old rival and friend from ModProds Adrian Fuller was 3rd on the grid and looked to be going well so I should not be too far off the pace.

I did actually speak with the MSA today and it seems like if I can send them a load of results sheets etc from the past they will reissue my licence as I really did not fancy doing that ARDS thing, I really struggle for time during the week. I intend to sort out the evidence tonight and book a medical and if that goes well who knows.

Yes it is Frank driving in the 1974 ETCC and looks as if he had a loss of Castrol sponsorship for the season.

I have no idea what happened to the car at the end of 1974, perhaps it was one of the cars reputed to have been bought by Stuart Graham? Maybe Frank has some information on the car.
