After the early season woes at Rahal, it is pretty amazing that Lundgaard is in 7th!

I think its great.
Even though we have Palou in a dominant position, the battle behind him is frantic,

The RLL performance also shows us how tight the field really is from front to back.
A team back in 20th is often just a step or two from a podium if they can get their engineering ducks lined up and things fall their way on a good day.

Indycar really is one of the most competitive forms of open heel racing on the planet.

Does make me wonder what will happen with MSR and LC, Pagenaud is outside at 25 and behind his replacement and Helio is at 20 but at risk of dropping more than moving up based on points gaps. 4th team cars aren't eligible so Armstrong at 16 is not eligible but will drop this weekend a bit as he is not in the car (I think), 53 points ahead of Helio and 68 on Pagenaud. But I can never remember if it is all points earned in that car or earned by that entry and driver, so Daly could really help them move up this weekend.

I think its points earned by the car/team, not the driver...., but that's just guessing.

Armstrongs points keep him in place for the rookie title even though he's not in one of the three cars (Probably why Penske never went to a fourth car after Pagenaud left) but will they give Rookie of the Year to him or prefer to choose one of the 'full time' drivers rather than Armstrong?

Performance wise he scoops it relatively easily.

I wasn't aware that 4th team cars weren't in the running. I think it's points earned by the car.

I thought season rookie of the year was based on points, unlike the Indy 500 ROY, which Malukus deserved to win in 2022 but didn't do to letting the press vote. Armstrong is 43 points ahead of Canapino heading into Iowa, so it would take two top ten finishes for Augustin to catch up. It's possible that could happen and could leave Armstrong vulnerable since he won't be in the car at Gateway. Both drivers have been impressive.

What are saying is that Armstrong shouldn’t be eligible. I agree.
Also Canapino isn’t eligible because of the clash with Ilott for obvious reasons.

If you recall, the rookie of the year at Indy doesn't have to be the highest placing driver, so lets just use that same logic here. Stingy is rookie of the year.
