I do enjoy this round, but it is like finishing second in a spelling bee. "We don't suck as much as some".

RHR gets pole. Bad luck for Power, who starts 22nd after getting caught out by the red flag incident involving the No. 16 Acorn Stairlifts Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing car.
It's not been his season so far. |

I wonder if Sato can continue a streak. Confidence I'm sure will play a big key and this one, and winning on a track that has a similar feel to it (Long Beach) should boost Takuma's confidence level. Of course, he's starting 12th. :/ |

Power does have a moaning voice - still, hope for a change of luck & good rum for him. Same with Sato, think he could become a lot of people's favorite if he is a serious title threat...

I just missed the start by 7 laps and there is already an FCY. What happened?

That's Power out, after what looked like quite a good charge.

What an amazing win for Hinchcliffe. Great overtake and no p to p left for either Hinchcliffe or Sato.

May have been a decent race but the coverage from the booth SUCKED beyond anything I'v heard before, and I listened to MRN try to call a GA race at Road Atlanta. If you want to hate on Sato that's fine but don't make up the blocking rules as you go along, especially when Beau proves all three to be completely WRONG. If anything Hinch made the most aggressive and egregious move and couldn't completely clear Sato off the corner. Go back and watch, Sato's nose DIVES and kicks left as Hinch chops to the wall. Personally think Beekus should retire and go watch croquet if he is so opposed to what EVERY driver interviewed called clean fun racing. Gave them another try but damn I can't stand his revision of rules to suit what he wants, not the ACTUAL rules.

You didn't see anything you would have called blocking?
Either did I. Good stuff, that. |

There was an excellent crowd at São Paulo. If IndyCar wants to expand they could look to South America.

The last 20 laps were great. The first 55 were absolutely painful to watch. Please get rid of double file restarts on street courses. Drivers did as well as they could and am glad that the battles at the end were deemed clean by the stewards as it was all good and clean IMO.
Leigh Duffy needs to be shocked every time he says " The Mayor of Hinchtown" from this point forward. Massive! |
