Mallory Park, Sunday July 20th, more overtaking than in a G P!
The VSCC are playing on Sunday July 20th at Mallory Park, the Edwardian race will see more overtaking in one lap than all of a Grands Prix!.
I hear rumours that there is a record grid of 28 cars for the Edwardian race, with a probable average capacity of well over 8 litres! This is a real spectacle, loads of overtaking, my 6 litre Stutz is a midfield runner compared to some of the really 'hot' Edwardians... If you have never witnessed this you ain't seen nothing! See you there. Last edited by eclectic; 2 Jul 2003 at 09:58. |

I'm confused!
You've mentioned two dates, the 29th & the 18th, neither of which is a Sunday! Maybe the VSCC still uses the Julian calendar....... |

Or, if you go on the 13th of July there's the Morgan Sportscar club featuring those funky Triumphs, minis, morgans and probably a tonne more old (but not quite vintage) machinery.

Aha Simon, so you will be at Charade with the Lotus X1? I will be demonstrating with a 1925 sports Alvis 12/50 ducksback the day before, it should be interesting as it is a hilly circuit and the Alvis lacks Front Wheel Brakes! See you there.

I hope to see some of you at Mallory this weekend...should be fun, and much more accessible in every way than F1 at Silverstone.
As a bonus, the world's oldest Grand Prix car that still races will be out.. perhaps someone has a photo of the 1907 GP Panhard et Levasseur? It is a seriously fast and hairy monster. The 1907 French Grand Prix was I believe the world's first race to be called a GP.correct me if I'm wrong. |

Well the British Grand Prix had too much overtaking to count. Hope you enjoyed Mallory.

It was very enjoyable..I'd attended the Cadwell Meeting and whereas it smelt and sounded great I felt it was lacking something...I cant really put my finger on it but I had left feeling a little dissapointed. This meeting however more than made up for it, good crowd too.
