Gene

Dunno if anyones mentioned this (please feel free to close the thread if it as), but if Williams are keeping their drivers this year, or have others in mind, do you think Gene will get snapped up by another team? He certainly showed potential in place of Ralf, so do you think he'll have a good chance of going to another team next year? And who for?

Snapped up by another team? trouble is, who is left?

I think he will be Willaims test/third driver for another year.

he is the only Williams driver there are no fanciful rumours about!

I think he would be silly to move. Just move him into the driver post when JPM goes...

Speaking of Williams, teletext seems to be under the impression that JPM is leaving imminently and Webber is replacing him for 2004. Hmmmm.......I suspect not.

This really is the silliest of silly seasons. I don't see either part of that Webber to Williams, Montoya to (McLaren?) rumour being true.

I also can't see Gene in a 2004 race drive. Ralf seems secure within the team, and Marc's status as a crucial member of the team may well have been cemented by teh showing in Spain.

Anyone remember the Britpop band Gene?

It can't be true. I can't see McLaren just ripping up DC's contract right now, can you?

The question is, is it better to be Williams 3rd driver and tester (probably driven an F1 car more than the regular drivers) or an actuall race driver at say Jordan or Minardi?????

The same question could be applied to Luca Badoer, but he seems happy with his job and there are no rumours of him say ending up at Sauber?

But is Badoer capable of landing a race seat anywhere except Minardi? This is a slightly different situation to Gene's. Both should stay where they are, IMHO.

I am not saying that Badoer can get any race seat, I am just saying he in the same boat as Gene!

Nothing like Gene's boat. Gene's is a luxury yacht and Badoer's is a rowing boat in the middle of a dirty lake.

What you've said isn't true, sorry.

Badoer should be part of the 2004 engine package for Sauber.
