Arrest warrant issued for Eddie Irvine

Finally, Eddie Irvine is a wanted man again.

Pitpass.com reported the following:

Quote:
An arrest warrant has been issued following former F1 star Eddie Irvine's failure to attend a court hearing in London.

The former Jaguar, Jordan and Ferrari driver is alleged to have exceeded the speed limit whilst driving through Hyde Park in July this year, it's also alleged that he had no insurance.

Having failed to appear at Bow Street Magistrates Court in November the case was heard and proven in Irvine's absence, however sentencing was adjourned until today when the Ulsterman once again failed to appear, as a result the arrest warrant was issued.

The Ulsterman can be seen on Channel 5 tonight when he hosts Extreme... Dangerous Jobs, a documentary on people who risk their lives on a day-to-day basis.

If seen, Irvine should be approached with extreme caution since he is understood to be armed with a small arsenal of sound-bites which he is not afraid to use. Previous victims have included Antonio Pizzonia, Michael Schumacher, Kimi Raikkonen, David Coulthard indeed almost anyone currently employed in F1.

I wonder if that makes him the second faster driver clocked through Hyde Park?

It just goes to show what a big-headed a**e the guy is. Should have set an apropriate example and turned up to accept his punishment. To get to that stage he'd have been sent a summons, statements of evidence and then another notice when the case was adjourned for him to attend.

Perhaps he can only read cheques.....

Almost certainly an Irish thing. Usually facilitated by lots of Guinness. And peanuts.

Good old Eddie. Riding a scooter through Hyde Park with no licence or insurance.

And then forgetting to turn up at court!

He probably thought, Do I go and be frowned at by some senile old ponce in a wig who's never heard of me, or do I just not bother going back to the UK...?

Apparantly he did turn up in court but was such a short-arse that no-one could see him in the dock.

Why? Just because he's famous? Does the fact that he's famous make him any different from the average man in the street? Or are you saying that it's ok for the average man in the street to not turn up, but just because Eddie's famous, he has to turn up to set an example?
