Well done to him. He had the best car, but he also had the relentless speed. Well deserved.

The outcome justified the team's approach, they let the drivers race and the championship went to the best performer. All credit to the driver and the team.

Whoever wins deserves it. Vettel kept his nerve, Ferrari blew it for Teflonso, Hamilton gave it as good a go as he realistically could.

In my eyes the fastest guy won the series.
After he learned how to drive the car again mid season he was quicker than Webber meaning the team had every right to leave him in the mix. McLaren were not quite on the pace and Lewis in all honesty made more mistakes than the rest of the contenders. Ferrari simply covered the wrong guy as Eddie said in commentary, huge error and that cost them. But they lost the year being awful after round 1 in reality Quickest car won, quickest driver won, I have no issue with that |

If Alonso had won it, we'd never have heard the end of what happened in Hockenheim, so for the sport it's the right result.

Remember he would have had 3 more wins without technical issues. So more than deserved.

It wouldn't have bothered me if Alonso had won by 7 points or less. But you're right, it would've caused mayhem on the internet and the media and whatnot.

It worked out like 1997. While Jacques made loads of mistakes and didn't have the reliability, was out driven by Schumacher all year, and went into the final race behind him, and still won it
I don't think anyone would argue Jacques was the best driver and I don't think Vettel was the best driver this year. But in terms of the championship, you can't argue against it - they scored the most points |

That's the thing. The drivers' title is always won by the combination of car and driver that does the best job. I don't think Vettel is the best driver in F1 (probably the 3rd or 4th IMHO) but he's certainly a deserving champion.

If you're happy, post here.
If not, there's a separate thread. Let's have one thread where happy fans can celebrate without getting into an argument please. Thanks. |

Very well done to Vettel. All he could do today was win the race and hope. He did exactly that and everything else worked in his favour. I had expected Alonso to win the title today, as it seemed to me (before the race) he had the least to do to secure the championship. |
