FIA GT Rnd 2: Brno 26-28 May 2007
Race 2 of the championship is only a week away. No big changes from Silverstone; Vonka found his second driver and B-Racing will have a proper lineup this race: Kox and Bouchut pairing up on the Lambo. Considering that they drove with Kox/Morbidelli last year on Michelins it'll be interesting to see how they do this year with Kox/Bouchut and Dunlops. Furthermore Cunningham has left Balfe and we'll see Bennet instead of Niarchos on the 2nd Scuderia Ecosse 430.

Youch, guy can't get a break. After his early good years in the Seat ETCC too, shame.
Who's in the Cirtek car this time? |

Unfortunately no Cirtek this weekend. Here's the link to the entrylist on fiagt.com:

Well, says two Race Alliance cars there, so already out of date.
Hopefully Babini/Gollin can qualify and run fast from the start and put the DBR9 to good use. Pescatori ran well at Silverstone initially too though, hmmm. The Phoenix package isn't that bad for Aston Martin either. Maybe this time Janis will be propelled to run at full pace without sliding off this time - and therefore be the only challenge to the most likely to win Maserati's! |

Don't forget the C6 though, it was on pole and on a par with the Mazza's and Zaksleen at Silverstone?
If it hadn't been a/ nerfed off at Copse on the first lap and b/i f it hadn't have lost time with the off later on it would've been figuring in towards the end? |

Hello
The series certainly seems to have more competition this year and I wouldn't bet against a Corvette win at Brno either. Nick |

Hello
I know its only free practise 1 but the Saleen is at the top followd by three Aston Martins, the Corvette, a Maserati and the Lamborghini. Interesting stuff. Nick |

Aston showed well in practice in Silverstone and it didn't work out. It's the Zakspeed Saleen that looks to be the one to worry about again.
Maserati's looking a little off colour. |

Hmm, LNT isn't here I see.
I expect Ferrari to continue their good fortune so far this season in GT2. I would also like to see the Zakspeed Saleen come out on top, combine with Orcea's victory at Spa, the S7 is FAR from dead. Can't wait until Le Mans Pre-Qual/Test Days next weekend! |

Hello
Well at the moment and bearing in mind it is still only free practise, its shaping up for a really good race. Nice to see quite a variety of cars at the top of the grid. Can the Saleen and Corvette qualify like this though? The Ferrari 430 seems to be the car to have in GT2 this year as well. Nick |

That Saleen's my favourite for pole though, less laps and still top. The rest is an inconsistant mess...with the exception of the Balfe Saleen which is consistantly slow of course.
Another Ferrari GT2 win on the way surely? As long as both Ecosse cars don't fall out again - at least they've got a few more here for redundancy unlike ALMS. |

So, a Saleen S7R on pole for the first time since 2004 and the other one in 10th place! Mind you its a good spread of the GT1 class and should result in a cracking race. Can't wait to watch it.

Phoenix doing very well with that DBR9.
That Saleen's got to be a favourite for the win though, as long as Janis doesn't get too over-excited at his home track. |

Great win for Janis. Lots of incidents elsewhere. Cars not letting faster guys unlap themselves seemed a bit selfish.
Biagi/Hezemans incident was unnecessary. Piccini/Phoenix still impressive, but Zakspeed unstoppable today. |
