New Hillclimb Gould GR51s

I read in Autosport this week that there will be 5 new Gould GR51s out next year in the British Hillclimb Championship. Rob Turnball/Paul Edwards, Adam and Roger Fleetwood, Mark Coley, Tony Marsh and Roy Lane will all have one with different engines.

But who will be able to over throw Graham Wight Jnr?? I reckon Graham will still come out on top although Adam Fleetwood might give him a run for his money nearer the end of the season once he gets into it.

What do you reckon??

Sounds good. Now if only someone would let Trevor Willis have a go in one?

As long as Graeme keeps it on the black stuff, can't see him having any problems next season, along with more hill records.

I don't know. But I wish I could get my hands on some of it. I suppose it depends on how you 'cut your cloth' so to speak. Maintanance and running costs are a little less on a Hillclimb car and there may well be guys with money who don't want to go circuit racing where the running costs and chances of accidents a greater.

Whatever the case, its great to see new purpose built cars on the hills. However, I do feel the variety of cars now competing is a lot less than what it used to be. Perhaps not so good for the spectators?!?
