Possibly Terry it is a popular club.
We've just got their calendar, however so I've plugged it into the forum calendar. |

Entries are very good with Future Classics being full or virtually full I think. Swinging Sixties has been so popular over the last couple of years that it has been split in to two grids & they are still very healthy by most clubs standards.
I'm not there myself, sadly, my car is now back together but has not yet been on a RR or tested. |

I will be there both days but only racing on Sunday. Mate of mine makes his race debut on Saturday in FC in his Escort rally car!

I'll be there on Sunday for the Classic K race with the Elite. My first race weekend of the year and it'll be a busy one as I'm down at Brands Hatch on Saturday for Julius' GT race in the WSM Midget.

Nice pics Andrew. Did see you in the distance with your media H&S jacket on!
Great day yesterday despite wind being little bit keen at times. Now Snet has the new viewing mound between Riches end of Senna and infield it is easier for competitors and helpers to watch other races from close to the paddock, so got to see some action. Thanks JP! Cliff had 2 good races in his XJS, first from back of grid as missed qualifying day before, and Suzanne ran well in her Classic K race. My car of the day was the pale blue TR5 that won the 2nd group Swinging 60s race. I've never heard a Triumph six sound that strong- fantastic! Special mention for Colin Youle (XK120) who celebrated his 50th racing year by crossing the finishing line (After some car trouble) in Classic K race. |

Although a relatively minor (cheap to fix) engine glitch prevented me from racing yesterday at my first CSCC meeting I was thoroughly impressed with the way the club organised the day and ran the Classic K race. As I've banged on about for a while with respect to the Guards Trophy there is great demand for a well-policed pre 66 GT series beyond Gentleman Drivers.
The new circuit layout at Snett was great. Very challenging and some might say a bit "stop and start" for our cars but it kept me thinking all the way round during qualifying and that wasn't true of the previous layout. The staff in the restaurant were very friendly and all the facilities were clean. I'm not sure whether Jonathan Palmer still has a thing about loos (he went on record a few years to say that he did) but to my mind his circuits really set the standard when it comes to service and attention to detail. Ironic that the commentators were plugging TSL Timing all day and then for first time I can remember results don't appear!
Talking of commentary- can the c'tators see all the circuit, as at times they seemed to miss the action? (Not a criticism- I wouldn't even know where to start!) Sorry you didn't get to race Mark- if it's any comfort your car looked absolutely beautiful just standing still! |

There is a blind spot between Esses to Corum that they can't see.

Report - I'll try to keep it brief!!
Our fun began whilst loading up Friday night, picked up my new tilt bed trailer just a few days earlier and hadn't a chance to fit a winch so typically car cut out half way up due to a battery with suicidal tendancies. Battery is underneath loads of gear stored in car for journey, camper/trailer car blocking off street, neighbours coming home from work etc etc Called home Saturday morning and arranged for the old man to bring a new battery with him on Sunday. So didn't touch the car all day and just enjoyed the racing and the weather. My mate in the Escort mentioned previously expired on lap 3 of the Future Classics race when the rods escaped via the side of the block and the sump! Sunday dawned another bright day . New battery fitted, toddled off to scrutineering and noticed the voltmeter not showing what it should. Between scrut and qually found alternator with no output so put the battery on charge and readied for a dash to local Halfords prior to race. Qually was actually a test session initially to see whether we'd sorted last years cooling issues - we had. Ended with 14th on the grid Big wait until race but that gave plenty of time to watch other mates at play. Rolling start went ok though lights seemed an age to go out (race starts when lights out, not when crossing the line) and managed to pick off a couple of Elans straight away. Think one got me back at the first new hairpin (can't remember names yet). Bit of dicing with some more Loti, Elans and a plastic 7. Outbraked one into the chicane at the end of the straight (Mustang outbraking an Elan??). Battled with the plastic 7 until the pit window opened then made an early stop. Fumbled with new q/r steering wheel and lost loads of time, grrrr! Finally back out and went through a nice period of just catching and overtaking other cars, however, the early stop didn't really suit me as it then seemed ages till the flag. Last few laps started to have a fuel delivery problem (I think) which was somewhat random but kept the nerves jangling until I passed the chequered flag. Result - 5th o/a, best finish ever Really enjoyed the new circuit though the extra hairpins were murdering my brakes. Long sweep of Corum into last corner (Murrays?) suited the car better than the old chicane. As ever big thanks to the organisers and the boys and girls in orange, oh and the guy controlling the weather - this meeting 2 years ago I woke up with snow on the ground and qualified during a hailstorm!! |

I emailed them to see what the score was - they say that because Snett didn't have an internet connection they couldn't upload any results...hope to have them by the end of the week No, I don't understand why it takes to the end of the week, either TSL website does now carry a notice saying roughly the above..... |

...except he has a blind spot when it comes to power - all that money spent and not a single hook-up point in the paddock, cannot understand why?

Does anyone know why 38 qualifiers for the Mag 7s event were reduced to 5 for the actual race?
