Johansson Zytek?

http://www.sportscarpros.com/cottonb...ip/default.htm

Take a look at the link.

Sportscarpros are saying that Stefan Johansson is looking to buy a Zytek. It sure would explain why he has spent so much time in the works Zytek.

Now wouldn't a Gulf Zytek look great in the LMES.

Today's Autosport indicates his visits are more likely to be to do with his Monza race for the works team and the likely addition of him for Le Mans. Good News - another top driver at the 24 Hours.

Yes, what Sean said. Just read what I wrote and it gives the indication it is about him buying a car, but the Autosport article was about him possibly driving it at Le Mans.

Johansson driving at LM was always on the cards, but he may have been so impressed with the car that he is looking to buy one.

He may have a little more time on his hands and cash on the hip as I don't think he's running his ChampCar team anymore.......is he?

He's always kept his hand in with sportscar racing.

The R8 program he ran would have continued if the ELMS had.

Lets hope he's eyeing up a return to sportscar racing as an owner/driver.

It would be awesome to see him and Guy Smith run against the Dyson cars and Champion in ALMS. That would be a real fight.

Didn't Guy Smith say he had a LMES LMP1 drive lined up after he lost the Audi deal.

Maybe with Johansson?

The works Zytek and DBA are going over to the ALMS for the last 2 races. Zytek are demonstrating the car to potential customers.

Isn't it about time some US GT/LMP2 teams stepped up to LMP1 now? The Zytek is very competitively priced

If JOTA can run one competitively I'm sure there are many 'small' US teams that could do the same

awesome, cant wait to see this car with the dyson lolas and champion's R8!! thanks for the update JAG! it would be great for Johansson to get a Zytek, can't get enough of that car! also, hopefully Zytek can persuade Dyson to get on board and purchase two next-generation 2004-spec Zyteks to run in the ALMS and LM!

that must be bad news for Dyson...as their cars will be devalued by the presence of the Zytek. They should have sold them last year and race Zyteks in 04.I´m sure that was What Andy proposed to themas he drove the DBA last year occasionally and could compare the potential of the machines. After all the developments the Mgs are still fragile and simply not as fast as the Zytek,so all the money was ....wasted.
What a pity ,Reynard dropping out of business ,that car could have saved them ,I bet some of the people involved back then get a lot of satisfaction from the performance of the DBA and the Zytek..
Who designed the Car back then at Reynard ?

Johansson's "American Spirit/Team Johansson" operation in Champ cars folded late last year (in November?), and they put their assets up for sale...that happened even before the whole "CART files Chapter 7 so OWRS can buy select assets" deal went down in in mid-December....

I think Zytek were a bit forward in publishing that press release - maybe they should have stuck to saying the car/engine were all British.

Stefan says in this week's Autosport that he is hoping to do Le Mans with the team so fingers still crossed.

Don't remember Guy saying he had anything finalised, just that he was working hard to put something together.

Would be great to see Stefan & Guy paired up again, maybe even in the Gulf colours, after all we know Stefan still has his overalls!

Doubt if Dyson will buy a Zytek - current betting is that he'll be at the head of the queue for the new Dome chassis when it appears.

Five minutes later, when my copy of Autosport arrived, I would have had my answer!

Article in it confirms that Shimoda has moved over to the Zytek from the Kondo Racing Dome.

They also say that Stefan might be back for the other LMES/ALMS races.
