I don't think he'll comment somehow !!
He must be p!ssed though, imagine "having" a drive, then not being allowed to actually get amongst it on the track... Last edited by FatBoy; 2 Apr 2004 at 01:00. |

With only the top 32 drivers being invited to go to NZ, there is the real possibility that if Noske drove this weekend, then neither could go to NZ...
Unfortunate, but the way the cookie crumbles... |

There must be some strange logic going on up in banana land, if you were a betting man you would have to say that Bessy was a better chance to wreck the car than Noske was,Besnard scored 150 points more than Mark in the "factory" car as opposed to marks very priveteer effort over the season or 11 lousy points per round.Strange but then Noske's whole career has been dotted with strange outcomes to situations and mostly not the doing of Mark:confused:

Bezzy got the drive because of his champiosnhip position atm, so decided by all parties (including Mark) to give Bezzy the drive. There will be two cars at NZ.

The PWR level 2 franchise is not on the timing sheets for Friday practice - could it have been sold to WPS, and the licence agreed to be rested (without fine) for the weekend in return??

The top 32 cars for NZ is based on franchise position, so Mark Noske could have driven this weekend.... perhaps all is not as peachy keen at the WPS palace as the constant barrage of press releases would suggest

I thought the same, GTR, but didn't want to summise too much.
One of the early press releases mentioned a AUS$10 million, three year commitment, which if you have to buy the gear to start with, isn't really a rich budget. Whilst WPS have bought the Forbes/00 equipment at a ridiculously cheap price, they don't - to the best of public knowledge - actually own a franchise. If you banked on picking up a pair of L2's, which is what they need to run 2 cars for 2005 when the LRT/Tasman/whoever lease expires, then put aside say $1 million. Put another $1.5-2 million down on equipment, and that erodes upto $3 million from the $10 million, three year budget. That leaves $2.33 million to run on each year. This is summising and no figures are accurate or informed - its just guess work. The 00 gear went for a lot less than it's original asking price though...! |

And if that includes the safety car sponsorship program....., which one would suspect that it doesn't.

Nobody has ever quantified them, except to say their comapny records as lodged at ASIC suggests a "significant" turnover

I like the WPS website. It has some numbers in it that must make you drool, GTR, being a beanie and all. In fact, you could probably near-on be a water feature, I would guess.
WPS having $600 million annually in sales alone is pretty exciting! |

I am not sure how that works... I presume $600m is the amount of new business written, that is, the amount of money put under management for the season.... management fees would be a small fraction of that I should think...

A small fraction of $600 million is still a flash number.
For example, whats a good fund manager take these days? If they took 1.25% of the sum, which on $600 million is $7.5 million and 10% of any profit over a certain target. If you said that the target was an 8% return, which is $48 million, and WPS actually achieved a 10% return which is $60 million, then their cut of the 2% they beat target by is $1.2 million. That's a summised total of $8.7 million! Not that flash really, Onlooker. And that's one of 40 companies |

I'm not saying that the operation can't make money, but it wouldn't be handing in a BAS with 600mil as the earnings.

Speak english, Onlooker.
You must have been drinking 9 schooners like Gory confesses to. He has certainly brought some colour to the sport - not many team owners would call themselves c0ckheads on their own website! You have to admire a guy like that. |

He actually calls them skooners, but after 9 of them, the fact that he can spell at all is quite impressive!
