Brack Wins
and Toyota sweeps the podium. Too bad to see Jourdain have to drop out of the lead like that with the crowd going crazy every time he came by, but thats racin...
Now then, about Brack, does anyone know his situation for next year? Is he looking for a CART ride or is anyone looking at him? I hope he doesn't end up in nascar or irl |

Don't worry about next year now....
Congrats to Brack on a great race! He finally showed he has some talent on the road courses. Good job by Da Matta starting fairly far back and coming through to take 2nd. Good to see that nobody in the Mo Nunn crew was too seriously injured- that looked scary. If Tony whines about the penalty he got from that,.... (I won't finish that senetence) Not as much passing as we would have liked, but an absolutely AMAZING event (look at that stadium section!) that we'll a look forward to next year. |

Great job by Bräck. Not so many passing, but the win was decided by Bräck's pass of da Matta nonetheless!
Apart from the fire in Nunn's pit, the broken rear suspension on Dominguez's car was also scary. Luckily it didn't happen while cornering. |

Kenny's got to feel like a million bucks, or kroner, or whatever the Swedish currency is now... I loved it!

Congrats to Andre Lotterer on 12th place, and a point. He had a solid weekend, kept his nose clean and deserves his point.

What a weird race. I was hoping through the whole thing that Bruno would come second overall and that no Deserter would be on the podium. I just could not have written a race report saying nice things about them.
Congrats to Kenny Brack and I hope it does him good in the matter of finding another drive next year. PARTY AT BRUNO'S PLACE! $500,000 ought to buy a lot of |

Plus it would've been an interesting question:
"Chip, now that your cars have finished 1-2 on a road course, what are you doing next year?" |

Well his cars finished 1-3 on a road course. Wonder if anybody asked him that? And his only signed driver finished some time this morning ....

I expect that whatever drive Kenny gets next eyar, it won't be a competitive CART one unless he drops his asjking price dfrom what he got for this lame 2002 effort. Being mostly outperformed by Bruno isn't too bad, he's a gifted youngster with F1 aspirations, but for Scott Dixon to come into the team midseason and usually trash him, to the point where he keeps the drive even though Kenny has done so well in IRL before, isn't impressive

Lotterer was really impressive. And it was great to see Coyne behind pitwall again! As for Brack, I won't really miss him if he's gone.
The event was incredible to be sure. If you could almost feel the atmosphere through your TV, imagine what it must have been like to be there! What a great success. How long do you think it will be before F1 returns to the track? |

Did anyone notice Lotterer making fastest laps? Shinji Nakano too. Could have been great for Dominguez, he looked strong.
Tora 6th! In his little interview with Jeremy Shaw, Kenny sounded like he really likes road racing now, and wants to do it next year, we'll see... F1 at a decent track? |

Well, with Stefan Johansson perhaps starting a CART team next year, that could be an option for him. But anyway, I hope we'll see him in CART next year as well, IRL is a bit "been there, done that" for him perhaps? |

I hadn't thought about the idea of him as Stefan's driver, good thinking.
As an aside, I remember reading somewhere that Chip felt that maybe after a couple of years of CART, he might take him to NASCAR, and I'm sure Kenny was keen on that idea, so maybe something will be sorted out there. |

I was massively impressed by Lotterer. We may have another CART => F1 driver in the making.

Liz what did you mean by ganassi's only "signed driver finshed sometime this morning..." do you mean Dixon or Scheckter? So Scott finished back in 6th or 7th or did he finish driving for Ganassi that morning...

That was just a joke ... I know Dixon actually did quite well.

Dario screwed up Mikey at Fontana, Mikey screws it up for Dario at Mexico!
Kenny deserved it. After all, he probably should have won at Portland, when he lost the wheel... |
