Hockenheim In Danger..

Now we are now in danger of losing the German Grand Prix.. If it continues like this the 2006 season will be a short one..

If it was the Hockenheim of old... people would have been kicking and screaming

but the new track is not worth saving.

ooh it's a mass exodus of all tracks...

To be fair won't miss the new one after Tilke's modifications...it's not the same (and unlike Spa in terms of character etc).

Sympathy was always going to be low for Hockenhiem dropping off the schedule thanks to the Tilke hatchet job but it's not helped by Germany having two Grands Prix either.

That's a shame after all. If it's not going to make it, what track will substitute it ? I just hope it doesn't get worst.

At least, drivers seem to like it.

How many other circuits are going to be driven away from F1 because of the ludicrous amount they have to pay to host a race? It's becoming a joke really.

A 17-race season? Perhaps if the German race goes, another should replace it. I'd hope so anyway.

Oh well, I won't miss the modern track either. F1 lost its soul years ago, I just don't care anymore.

I would personally be very happy to see Hockienheim go. Every year I still weep to myself when I remember the beautiful old track. And i get angry at how they obliterated it. Grr.

I agree ive never thought the new circut was good enough for a grand prix. Maybe the circut BRNO in the Czech Republic would be a new race in europe that could develop a fan base for F1

youngoldy has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!
I can tell that within 5-10 years,

-Nurburgring,
-Hockenheim,
-Hungararing,
-Spa,
-Imola,
-Magny Cours

will be missing from the F1 calendar. We need someone to stand up and boot out Mosely and his flock of sheep and frogs, and get a proper person in who can bring F1 back to what its supposed to be.

Alan Gowe?
Paul Stoddart?
Eddie Jordan?

To be honest only Spa would bother me from that list.

I can't say that I would be sad to see Hockenheim disappear, as I have never liked either track format (first one was dull, second one weas bland), but this has to stop somewhere. bernie should realise how unreasonable he is being, and how he is conning tracks out of money. Eventually, many tracks will refuse to pay him, and F1 will be snookered. I've heard that even the new tracks are in financial difficulty. I think it is Sepang that reported overall losses because of holding F1 (don't quote me on that).

Fuji? No way. It is an awful track now that Herr Tilke has got his hands on it.

They must keep the Hungaroring! I need to have a snooze on at least one Sunday afternoon in the year.

Being driven to bankruptcy by excessive revamping and hosting fees.

Never would've thought this could ever happen!

Well, I suppose the teams will have got their wish. Just 17 seems slightly weedy after the last 2 seasons.

Does the German government contribute any money to the GP? The state (not federal) government does here on the grounds of the money brought in by tourism.

What sort of fees do these circuits have to pay Mr Ecclestone to host a race?..The whole concept seems arse backwards to me to be honest..
