Thats why I posted the link to the radar page. Because just like Melbourne weather, it changes every 20 minutes.

Maybe it'll look like rain towards the end of Q and in part 1 everyone will try and set the slowest time so they can to go out first in part 2.
Satelite of Australian weather as we speak (this updates) Obtained from http://uk.weather.yahoo.com/ASXX/ASXX0075/index_c.html Like I suggested in the other thread I might try to find a nice webcam near the track too! |

I am from Melbourne and it can be anything.
The odds are it will be a sunny 25 degree day, but around this time of year it can be anywhere up to 40, and it can be 15 degrees and torrentually raining. i hope if it rains they dont bring the pace car out but let them fight it out like men to see who is the new rain master! -jason |

There has been wet qualifying, wet warm up, but from my memory (and that is not 100% either) I cannot remember a wet Melbourne race = and i've been to all but 1 of them.

The last couple of years it's rained for most of the weekend but luckily the race itself has been run in dry conditions & as for it being hot anything under thirty five degrees at the moment will do me.

i went to the GP in 1996.... and it was perfect sunshine and about 27 degrees. It was such a perfect day that both mika's finished in the points. Salo 5th in the Tyrell, and Mika 4th in the McLaren in his first race back from his huge accident in adelaide.
1997 was overcast and won by DC 1998 was sunny and won by Mika Hakkinen after DC pulled over to let mika past in controversy. 1999 irvine won in sunshine 2000 MS won on a cloudy day from memory 2001 MS won, was a cloudy day, but no rain, best remembered for the JV, RS crash at Turn 3 2002 another sunny day, MS won i think, remembered for big T1 crash with Rubens and Ralf, and Webbers 5th place in the minardi 2003 DC wins under cloudy/sunny skies 2004 ? i would suggest that it would be sunny as march is always good wether down here, but its melbourne, so it could be anything 2003 |

Didn't they start out on wets last year, due to a drying track not quite fully dried yet (contributed to Rubens shunt I think)

In 2002 rain started in the qualifying, and that's why Sato has such a bad time.
Warm-up was also wet. During the race grass was little wet and that caused problems for Heidfeld, Panis and McNish, who went through the grass and hit other cars. |

Half of the field was on wets at the beginning of last year's race, including the two Saubers which were in P3 and P4 after lap 2, then the track dried, and they fell away and had to change to drys just as 9 others did.

Just arrived in Melbourne this morning, was 16C, cloudy and quite nipply after 3 days in Hong Kong. By midday it was sunny, not a cloud in the sky, around 22C. At 3 it was about 27C, and now it is 22C and light breeze. And yes, I have already managed to catch the sun!!

The important thing to remember is when you arrive in Melbourne you must be prepared for any type of weather.
