andrew pitt - gone......
if this is true
The Japanese press are reporting that Shinya Nakano will ride a Kawasaki MotoGP bike with Alex Hoffman, on Bridgestone tyres in 2004. If this is correct then Australian Andrew Pitt may well be looking for another ride in the MotorGP next year. It was expected that Pitt would be teammate to Hoffman, Kawasaki has 2 MotoGP slots normally and a third at certain tracks as a wild card from formula-xtreme.com.au |

Interesting - has this got something to do with Rossi's expected move to Yamaha along with D'Antins change to Ducati....

you would think that nakano would lose his ride at d'antin ducati seeing he is a yamaha boy - but kawasaki , the japanese need a rider on this bike and it is run by a german team...... makes sense to drop pitt - even if he is an aussie

Thats a big step backwards for Shinya if its true . Are there no options for him left at Yamaha?

Considering that Rossi will end up joining Fortuna Yamaha, Melandri's future is shaky to say the least. And where could he end up going??

A shame if Pitt won't be in MotoGP next year. He does deserve a ride.

Yes, but McCoy is talking to Aprilia. The bike may be uncompetitive, but it's still a ride....

Forgive me if I am repeating what someone has alredy said.
Kawasaki has confirmed that they are switching to Bridgestones and Yamaha is close to confirming Norick Abe as their fourth rider. |

From what I understand, Pitt would rather race lawn mowers next year than ride the Kwaka again. A GP career may be what he wants but slashing your wrists is not.

Kawasaki will be switching to Bridgestones next year, and the first tests with the Bs are very encouraging. Yanagawa was some two seconds per lap faster with the Bs than with the Dunlops at Sepang recently, and at Valencia Pitt achieved similar results while testing after the GP.
The main reason for Pitt disappearing is that with Hofmann an inexperienced rider Kawasaki will need somebody with experience to help developing the bike. Hofmann no doubt got the nod from Eckl because, like Eckl, he is from Germany....... |

Absolutely disgusting. Why would Kawasaki dump Pitt now. I mean a year ago he was "inexperienced" but 12 months later he has experience to go with his talents. Pitt can do much better than a ride on the green monster, but Kwaka should thank the day that they have youth and experience and now the chance to have youth, experience and also experience. Pitt should stay. Someoene explain to me why Hofmann is a better rider than Pitt.
