Upside Down Bug should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Well, I'll be there again. The return to Harrogate will bring back memories of the Lombard! Lets hope they manage to get some quality crews out again, Mark, Stig, Jimmy and all the rest really made it a good event last year.

Anuauto has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!
Where did all this "The Lombard" come from? It seems to be used so often now.
In period, over all the years of Lombard involvement, including 5 times as a competitor, I never once heard it referred to as that. It was always "The RAC" - to the extent that some people abroad, having seen it written as such so often, used to refer to it as if it was a word ie. "the Rack Rally".
Let's not re-write history how commercial promoters of such events as "The Lombard Revival Rally" might prefer.

I disagree, although I never competed I was a speccy on a number of the RACs through the Lombard sponsorship, and to many the event became known as the Lombard. Similar to the way the prototype sportcars with Gulf sponsorship in the 70s became known as the "Gulfs".

I have to agree with UDB. I always new the event as the Lombard, even the sponsers knew it as the Lombard. Because when Network Q took over sponsership of the rally, they were insistant that nobody used the "L" word, any marshalls seen wearing lombard tabards were told to remove them. I remeber one official got an ear bashing for putting up his Lombard umberella, while he was stood by the start/finish ramp.
After a couple of years people started refering to the rally as the Network Q.
Now people just call it the

Agree with Andy and Dave!

However, up until a few years ago, if someone asked if you were 'going on the RAC' you would know what they were on about!

It's just like how, in February we used to go to the Mintex, then we had to go to the National Breakdown.

I think it's an age thing.
The 5 day rally in November was always the RAC.
As for the Mintex I remember when it was the Seven Dales Rally.

Fair comment David. When I started watching some were still referring to it as the Lombank, or simply the RAC.

I grew up with hearing about either The Lombard though not as much as the RAC.

Am going to be out on it this year navving a Lotus Cortina and cant wait. Will be an awesome experience. Sadly though, there are a good number of people who ask how I got an entry to a WRC round
