Looks like a fairly standard OSCA with a Ferrari decal on the side, and from the look of the whole outfit it seems probable that is all it is. It is clearly not some 'works' car.
Interesting photo though. |

Try Bill Greene at the International Motor Racing Research Center in Watkins Glen. He is the expert on all things at the Glen

http://www.racingsportscars.com/race...59-09-26a.html and http://wsrp.cz/nationals1959.html#13/3 both show Ed Hugus driving a 750cc OSCA with race number 9 at Watkins Glen in 1959. But he doesn't appear in the entry list shown on the first site so it must have been a late entry.
Although Americans did do some strange engine swaps, I think this one is more likely to just be a decal. particularly as ferrari never did a 750cc engine. |

Thanks all for the info. I'll go with the "red, good looking Italian car, let's put a Ferrari decal on it and see if anyone falls for it" idea.

Who is the good looking Chick in the picture, and why is she standing in a tyre?

Seem to recall that NART ran an OSCA on occasions.

That is a NART decal. Not all North American Racing Team cars were pristine!

Looks like a boat of some kind on the top of the trailer. Any clues from that?

Fred Hayes
Possible connection to Canadian Fred Hayes who raced an OSCA for NART:
http://www.racingsportscars.com/driv...Hayes-CDN.html I have two b+w pics from 1961 where the car is #8, has Ferrari decal, two sets of leather straps, a thin centre stripe running the length of the bonnet, and flag motif on nose with US and Italian flags. I believe NART was importer/distributor of OSCA in North America...
