Robby Does it Again

What is with R. Gordon. Does he just enjoy hitting people? I felt sorry for Rickie Craven when Robby took him out. I counted at least 3 different cars that Robby spun out. When he took out Jimmie Johnson it also collected Mark Martin who was in the points battle. I would be pretty upset if I was Mark. Someone, like Childress, had better do some talking with R. Gordon. What he is doing "is not racing".

They both are in the points race. Coming into this race Martin was second, Johnson third.

But after that performance today I should change my nickname for him from "Robby the Wrecker" to "Robby the Whining Wrecker". I thought Jimmie Johnson's assesment of the situation was quite accurate.

"Jimmie, Robby is saying on his radio that you missed a shift. What happened?"

"Just like every form of racing he's ever been in. There's always... It's always somebody else's fault. He had me turned sideways before we even took the green. I didn't even have a chance to grab a gear. He was beating my bumper cover off me coming to the green because he wanted to restart in front of me. I'm trying to get my lap back as well, so... He's just crying up a river like he always does. It's a shame. We got a chance to win the Championship, and we get spun out before we even take the green on a restart. It's just wrong."

He was a one man wrecking crew last night but I am not so sure that his incident with Jimmie was worthy of a black flag. It did appear that Jimmie was not up to speed on the restart but I will have to go back and take a closer look.

My understanding is that Robby was warned twice by Nascar before the Johnson incident and he obviously paid no attention to the warnings. Also, he spun Johnson before the green flag, not that it would be justified even if they were racing under green.

What are the thoughts on the Jeff Gordon versus Rusty Wallace finish?

Typical short track racing. I was somewhat surprised by all the boos Jeff received. Its not like he wrecked Rusty. There is no need to get too upset if you are a Rusty fan because these two have a history and Rusty will get even sometime in the future.

I tend to agree (and I am a "somewhat" Rusty fan). The move by Jeff was "Just Racin".

I seen the replay of the incident on Speedvision and Robby rammed Jimmie while they were circulating on the caution lap before the subsequent bump as green flag was dropped. I totally agree that NASCAR was right in blackflagging Robby.

Yeah, it was typical short track racing. But for Robby Gordon, it was typical wrecking, and they should have parked him for his usual antics.

But there was nothing wrong with what Jeff Gordon did with 3 laps to go. Rusty Wallace did the same exact thing to Kevin Harvick with 19 laps to go, so if he complains, he ought to look at what he himself did. I see no difference in the two incidents, other than Jeff Gordon did it a little closer to the checkers.

Besides, it's Bristol. And I didn't hear any booing when Jeff Gordon won. If there was any, it was pretty well drowned out by all the cheering.
