Could Seton to HRT happen??? (Merged)

AA stated Ryan Briscoe would NOT be available this year for HRT enduro drives and Jum said enough for Bathurst....how about....

Skaife asks an old buddy who is vastly talented and really wants to win Bathurst....GlennSeton!!!would he cross to the dark side????

Well if Jim is hanging up the V8 Supercar Bathurst helmet, then who would be better qualified to take his Enduro spot at HRT then Glenn Seton ???

As a holden fan and an admirer of Glenn Seton, I'd like to see it happen

However, dont the rules this year state that the two full time drivers in a team cannot combine in one car come the enduros? If that is the case, then drivers like Seto you think would be snapped up by a high flying championship contender. Triple 8 spring to mind... if Seto were to remain on the blue side, there is one team who could utilise him. He'd get on ok with lowndes...

No they don't. VE$A didn't have the guts to do it.

Imagine that - 425 attempts in a Ford - nothing - jags his first attempt in a Holden!!!

Would the record books look 'right'?

He owes nothing to no one.

If he gets his chance with any front outfit he should take it.

At the end of the day he is either a Bathurst winner or not.

I recon if you said to GS that he could have a Bathurst win but it must be in a Holden he'd take it.

Personally .. if he has to drive a Holden to get a drive I wish he would end up at GRM driving with Dean Canto

Personally I would just like to see him win the race. I don't care what he's driving at the time.

Totally agree!!

Question about the HRT scenario is who would be put with Mr Seton for the enduros. Presumably Mr Reynolds or Mr Douglas??

In the last 4 years he has been on the podium 3 times at Bathurst so it would be hard to imagine him not getting a drive. I'd prefer it to be in a car with a blue oval on the grill but I'd rather see him driving for the other mob then sitting at home.

As I've said countless times, the notion of G. Seton in a Holden isn't as foreign, as it sounds. The family history spells that out clearly, despite the strong link with Ford.

I mentioned after Bathurst that this was almost a 90% chance to happen...

I met Glen Seaton at Sydney Airport the day he flew in to drive to Bathurst. He was with luffy and family buying coffee. I shook his hand and wished him well for the weekend. His reply surprised me. He said that this could be his last drive. I just watched the 3 hour highlight package ob fox and noted that during his time in the car even Cromley noted his seeming lack of speed and over cautionness on the day.

I doubt he would be any slower than JR ended up being.

Not to bag JR but I think he drove one Bathurst too many.

Seto certainly has been a institution at Bathurst - and oh so unlucky. Sometimes however you gotta say - it aint meant to be and I just think thats the way Glens luck has run with Bathurst - no matter what car he is in.
I used to hope like hell whoever my fave Ford driver was at any given time over the years that they weren't paired up with Glen - because they had no chance purely on his record in the luck area!
Anyway - if he gets a gig in a front running team good luck to him hope he proves me wrong.

Perhaps Ford could use him as a double agent...

Wouldn't need to team him up with Skaife, since he knows how to kill his chances all by himself... Count out Murph for the same reason. Rick might actually have to try and win a race this year to become champion, so he will most likely renew his friendship with the walls. So that leaves Garth and Todd as his likely team mates under this scenario...

I suspect that Mr Seton has missed the seat time he would enjoy being in the series full time....and this is what has led to the imbalance in times between himself and his codriver in the enduros....

How about a seat in your AU in the development series AAB? to keep his hand in before the enduros?
