Alonso shows very well!!
Lots of talk about other drivers at the Canadian GP but little mention of a brilliant drive by Alonso.
Any thoughts? Last edited by Apexx; 16 Jun 2003 at 00:54. |

Yes, very impressive & surprising to see him run with the big boys on a highish speed circuit.

SUPER impressive!
He was fast all day and stayed with clearly faster machines. |

Yeah, Alonso did make a very very strong race today. With no pace car, we had four cars head to tail there. ^_^ Very nice.

Fernando drove a brilliant race, amazed that he came in last for his pitstops given his grid position of 4th. Last edited by Mr V; 16 Jun 2003 at 08:50. |

JPM did not pass Alonso under yellows, Trulli spun as JPM was making the move, the marshalls weren't waving yellows until after JPM made his move.

Alonso - super-doopa-faberoony drive.
Up the blues and yellas! Heh - what's going on with some of the comments above? Come on guys he was 4th - and a good 4th, but I didn't see any probs. Great to see an 'underpowered' Renault hanging on the back of the leading pack though. Can't wait until they sort the HP's and FA will be looking in his mirrors at the other three! |

Had the race of been a ghost car concept, with no worries of a car needing to pass another, with all of the cars starting in the same place, all hypothetically of course.
Kimi - Alonso - JPM - Ralf - TGF - Rubinho Anyone else? |

Alonso is definitely within the top ones of F1 now.
I bet he will win a race this year yet... |

Alonso was really impressive, either he or Mciahel would be Driver Of the Day. Like Spain and Malaysia he didn't put a wheel wrong and drove a really impressive race, getting the msot out of a car whcih is not really suited ot this track. That he managed to run so long into the race and stil keep up a competitive pace throughout is a fine effort. A win this year is quite possible, maybe Hungary?

Yes, all hail to Saint Fernando - once again showing a brilliant performance. He's completely destroying Trulli. I feel a little sorry for Trulli, actually - nothing seems to go right for him.
But Fernando once again showed his brilliance, and as someone who has followed him since his F3000 days, I can once again look smug and say "I told you so!" |

And wasn't this supposed to be a race in which Renault were expected to struggle?
Fernando is 21 nearly 22 - at that age one MS had yet to make his F1 debut. |
