Get well soon, James??? what are you guys on??

ACCORDING to rumours fresh from the Grapevine, Formula One Proffessor, Sid Watkins, has told James Courtney not to race due to an injury sustained in testing for Jaguar Racing at Monza.

Can anyone confirm this?

Reports reaching me from the official F3 test at Rockingham say that Derek Hayes is subbing for James Courtney this weekend.

thats ok then only one Carlin driver to worry about at the front of the pack then. Although Mr Hayes could prove me wrong.

Best of wishes to a speedy recover for James though

Mr Hayes has a lot to prove so do not write him off just yet... He likes RMS and was on pole there last year! However his French experience may have made him soft

Nice attitude Rlinter ....not really necessary I wouldnt have thought.

Hope Robbie has a good weekend and makes the most of his chance to get ahead of James - will make the Championship that little bit more interesting

Of course I am sure Robbie would have prefered to beat james on the track however it would be chirlish for any driver not to take maximum advantage of the situation. However as Hayes & Kerr have been swapping fastest times all morning in testing then it will still be interesting on Sat & Sun!

edited for attacking another member - please all remember to attack the post not the poster.

I was looking forward to watching James this weekend and see him beat Robbie fair and square but I guess I will have to wait until the next race I can get to which will be at Snetterton at the end of August. I am sure James will be there this weekend and feel very frustrated that he won't be able to race, heres to a speedy recovery. I still say he will win the championship this season despite missing out on this weekend.

British Formula 3 Championship leader James Courtney has been forced out of this weekend's Rockingham rounds due to the injuries he received testing for the Jaguar Formula 1 squad at Monza in Italy last week.

Courtney was knocked unconscious in the high-speed impact, which was caused by rear suspension failure, and was later diagnosed with concussion in hospital.

After the crash, Courtney told AUTOSPORT: "My brain was bruised and because of that my right side wasn't functioning properly. My right eye was playing up but I'm told I should be okay in the next couple of days."

Team boss Trevor Carlin said: "Whilst missing this round will make it harder to win the championship, James' well-being obviously comes first. He will be back in the car for the next race at Oulton and we will pick it up from there."

Courtney will be replaced at Rockingham by Derek Hayes, who is currently racing in the French Championship. He drove for Carlin in the British GP support race, and set pole position at Rockingham last year when he drove for Manor Motorsport.

Courtney could lose his series lead at Rockingham to title rival Robbie Kerr.

Although i would like to see Robbie close up the gap in the championship , it seems a shame that James is missing the round which gives a false advantage to Robbie , especially when the Jag accident was totally not James fault .

Well when you're driving as fast as you can, there is always a risk that there will be an accident, and that injuries will rule a driver out from racing, whether it is the drivers fault or not.
