current f3000 cars and other stuff???

hello does anyone know what is happening with this years f3000 chassis as they are using the new one next season correct? It wont be going to euro f3000 (formula superfund) as they got their own chassis for 05 correct? and are the lola's euro3000 is using now going to italian f3000 (is this confirmed or just monkey talk?)? and are the formula nissan chassis being upgraded and fitted with renault engines as the two series are joining? if so what will happen to the current renault v6 chassis?

also what is going on with world series lights? is it still going ahead? and where are those issc (cant remember the name) cars that where made a few years ago to challenge f3000?

Current F3000 cars are going to Italy as are the Euro 3000 cars.

The Renault World series replaces the current Nissan World Series and the FRV6 series. It will be a new car - the current cars from this are redundant. South Africa, America and Australia are speculated as possible destinations for them.

World Series Lights is being binned - it only ever attracted very small fields.

The ISSC a few years back similarly had tiny fields.

The current Euro3000 and FIA F3000 cars can/will be used in the 3000 ProSeries (Italian F3000) with full support of Lola.

The current Renault V6 chassis will be shipped to North America to form the FranAm V6 series.

It was said before that the WS cars would be modified, but i haven't heard/read confirmation about it, but perhaps the new Renault car is indeed a modification. (Would be a very large modification then )

ISSC and WSL are both history. ISSC never got off the ground (apart from some demorace), WSL will be buried after the final race of the 2004 season.

Yes, the Renault WS cars will be an update of the current Nissan ones. Both (obviously) from Dallara.

No, only the Euro3000 series cars (Lola B99/50) will be used in 3000 ProSeries.

However both chassis are eligible for the Italian F3000 Series (which is a different championship).

How many more series do we need? Can you tell us more about this 3000Pro Series which this is the first I have heard.

3000 Proseries is simply the name for Italian 3000.

They are not different series.

Both the 99 and 02 spec cars are eligible.

But this is very confusing...

I've been following this on various sites and there certainly seem to be two series being set up -

3000 Pro Series
Car: Lola B99/50
Organizers: Peroni Promotion (PPI)/Piero Mancini
Calendar: 8 events, 7 in Italy, 1 in France: Vallelunga, Misano, Dijon, Imola, Mugello, Misano, Adria, Monza.
*Teams signed to compete: ADM, Azeta Racing, Draco, EuroNova, GDL Racing, Team Ghinzani, Scuderia Giudici, GP Racing, Scuderia FamÃ*
*First test announced for Misano, November 17th
*Teams to race at Bologna Motorshow: EuroNova, ADM, Draco, GP Racing, Giudici and FamÃ*

F3000 Italia
Car: Lola B99/50 and B2/50
Organizers: Coloni Motorsport/CSAI/ACI Sport (?)
Calendar: 8 events in Italy, headlining CSAI organised events
*Lola support confirmed
*Champ Car test for winner

I believe Peroni Promotion (PPI) claimed italiaracing.net and Autosprint were wrong to write that Coloni/CSAI had come to an agreement to start an F3000 series (as Coloni announced themselves)... In fact PPI claimed the CSAI rejected the plans (of Coloni) to run both chassis. So it seems the Coloni/CSAI series came as a surprise to 3000 Pro Series/Peroni/Mancini camp? italiaracing went on to state that the Coloni/CSAI agreement would not mean Peroni/Mancini could not continue with plans to set up their alternative championship.

So two series or one? There's clearly no room in Italian motorsport for two F3000 championships.

Only one will actually run - that seems like a power-play.

It's very much a national series for Italy anyway, rather than a threat to the ladder.

The presence of Gianni Guidici in a car this weekend sums up where it's going!

The intention is clearly to create a series in which existing F3000 cars can race, so that teams do not find themselves with worthless cars on their hands.

F3000 Italia appears to have the support of both Lola and the the Italian ASN (CSAI) so that suggests that it will have an advantage if there is indeed a power struggle. Both
Lola B99/50 and Lola B02/50 chassis will be eligible, with Lola committed to ensuring parity of performance. Don't know how, though, except perhaps by adding weight to the later cars.

Conversely, 3000 ProSeries has a confirmed calendar and nine teams already signed up.

...which means it's in a much better position at the moment.

I see from italiaracing.net the F3000 Italia (Coloni/CSAI) series will also have a race at the Bologna Motorshow, on 6th December. AEZ I.E. Engineering, CMS Performance, Coloni Motorsport and Durango will each enter two Lola B2/50 chassis.

Meanwhile the 3000 Pro Series recently had its first group test, Will Power one notable participant:

It's difficult to differentiate between the International F3000 cars and the Euro F3000 cars. The former are newer and updated, of course, and have updated aero kit. The latter are quicker in a straight line for this very reason.

This gives the Euro cars an advantage at circuits like Spa and Monza, but the converse is true at higher downforce circuits. I suppose it is possible they could compete against each other in the same championship, but you'd have to have some pretty slick scrutineering!
