Due to poor ticket sales and even poorer TV viewership, CART has announced that the oval race at St. Louis's Gateway International will be removed from next years schedule in favor of the new Monterrey, Mexcio street race.
In fact, CART has commissioned Chris Pook of Dover Entertainment, organizers of the Long Beach GP among others, to begin searching for suitable cities to hold street races. They have also asked organizers of the Detroit Grand Prix held at the Raceway at Belle Isle to begin looking for a more suitable location. |

Beautiful!
I love the street races. Here's an idea. How about the beautiful Canadian City of Ottawa. Outside my house! |

I wonder if CART is still on good terms with Bruton Smith? They are in the middle of constructing the new road course at Texas Motor Speedway for the ALMS race this year. Could CART go and run there? The banking is too high on the oval, but they could run the apron section.
