The 2010 Season
Clubs are busy chasing dates at the moment but by the sound of things, it does not look that good for us.
Donington is ruined and will take some effort to restore if it's not to be a housing estate! I've heard there will be a lot of work at Silverstone (presumably for the GP?) which will put the International circuit out of action for most of the year. Croft has got a limited programme due to the noise issue. Castle Combe has full capacity of meetings. It will mean the other tracks (mainly MSV) will be able to up their prices due to the demand. |

I suspect there'll be more continental opportunities next year and recession or not if there's nowhere else than that's where folks will go.
As to the Int'l circuit at Silverstone? I think its a shame because it's one of the top layouts in the UK. Donington will hopefully be restored because I doubt that many will want to buy a house in the flight path of an airport. An industrial complex would be fine but they like flat ground so the outside may be developed but the circuit itself will cost too much to level IMO. |

Ive said this for the past couple of years."please please can the organising clubs get together and sort out dates in historic racing that do not clash".If they are going to survive its got to be the way to go rather than trying to out do each other???.

To may meetings and self interest groups to make it happen. The Euro stays strong and then why bother to go to the continent.
Clubs and Promotors will not sort themselves out.Le Mans Classic and Monaco will absorb many peoples funds and energy. Our plan ,CER,AMOC Team Races,Le Mans Classic,Tour Auto and Espania,Tour Britannia and perhaps Abu Dhabi if its on. Seems like a plan. |

Does anyone know what the "problem" at Silverstone is?
The rumour is that the international circuit will not be available for most of the reason. is this due tod evelopments for the GP or what? |

Copied from another thread. For the record, I understand that there is unlikely to be any issue over the availability of Snetterton

Perhaps Silverstone are preparing for the Motorcycle Grand Prix. Will the different requirements of the motorcycling fraternity affect the circuits and their layouts?

For what it is worth Silv are redesigning the gap between the southern circuit and the National ( after someone crashed through and ended up in the wrong race going the wrong way).
The plan is to dump the Int straight and have some corners and link round a new southern circuit running clockwise with pits so that they can run race meetings on the National and Southern at the same time. With the new track they will then have a new "arena GP track incorporating the National and the "New International" linked near Becketts -southern bit. The net result will be 7 tracks at one venue in 2011. Some of them will operate in 2010. |

It would be interesting to see a pan of that!
So what happens to the bigger meetings that use the International circuit such as the Classic Festival and MG Live! in 2010 ? |

As i understand it at the moment there will be no International track in 2010. Whether the new Area GP track will be operational I have yet to hear.

That would imply serious problems for clubs then?

so what does that mean for the HSCC May meeting - will they run it on the National or will they be forced to run it on the GP? National will not make the meeting the premium one it has been of old.... I guess the same is true of the MG/Coys meeting as well

They do say that Lydden is the driver's circuit. When you get there you realise you should have driven on to Dover.

Listen I will race anywhere if Lydden or even Stowe was all that was on offer I would still be up for it, its better than nowhere :-). I am sure Silverstone etc. will not want to loose their core business and will soon put the tracks back in operation and by the sound of it will be able to run several race meetings on the same day so if anything there may be even more capacity not less, think positive guys!

Lydden is just so far away from civilization! Quicker for me to go abroad.

Someone once told me that you go past the turning for it on the main road to the best circuit in the world,I must have blinked.
I hear Silverstone are having a whipround for a new driveshaft for their Track Laying Machine, perhaps that would speed things up a bit? |

Is the one definite on my calender for next season
In fact I've just been testing my 'CTCRC spec' engines cylinder head on the flow bench today I have no intention of going up north (Snetterton is far enough) and south is entirely dependant on the exchange rate! |

Good news Zef now lets see some others do the same, oh and if we get the dates up early enough maybe other clubs could prehaps do us the honour of posting theirs up so that we can try to avoid a clash, you know the working together scenario :-). I think we are currently trying to avoid the Silverstone clash we had last year oh and are planning a two day event this time.
