[Rumour?] Team RedBull-Ecclestone-Toyota

According to a Dutch F1 magazine Bernie Ecclestone and Red Bull have bought/ will buy Jaguar. This is supposed to be announced around Oct 15th. The magazine also mentions that Toyota will supply suspension parts, engine and gearbox.
Any other sources that confirm this?

Minardi and Jordan have both had Bernie Cash lifeline payments as far as I know.

I rememeber paul saying that he got no $ at all from bernie but there was probably a promise of money (effectively a takeover)if things didn't improve. As it happens things did improve so no deal was finalised.
Not sure about jordan

Has anyone stopped to consider that it's *BERNIE* that will have to shell out big time if he doesn't provide the promised number of cars to race promoters??

That's a good thing of course
Maybe jordan, minardi and jag have all got a gauranteed buyer

great statement if it were close to accurate. The teams are responsible for that, and Bernie is using it as leverage against them.

raul_iulian has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!
If this is true, than it's OK! But i don't think so! Why buy a team without an engine!? I think Bernie Boy should try to bring other engine manufacturer in F1, that buy a team without an engine. Everyone knows a team without a Freeengine can hardly survive! U knoe what i mean.....don't u!?

There's no point in Bernie bringing a new engine manufacturer in if he doesn't have and cars to put it in, raul.

Getting a supply of previous-year engines is only a very small aprt of the cost of F1, so I don't see the importance in getting new engine suppliers. Besides, only Ford, Audi and Peugeot are outside F1 right now, and all have very good reasns for not being involved. Once again, I'll say that manufacturer involvement isn't a neccessary or even automatically good thing.

Bernie couldn't call them Brabham anyway. he sold the name when he sold the team. Then the Brabham family went to court to stop the team using the name 'Brabham' on the grounds their poor performance was bringing the 'Brabham' name into disrepute. They won.

He could always re-name the team Brabham and bring back Alfa as engine manufacture fit a fan on the back and it might win races!

He could also name the team Ferrari and hope Michael Schumacher is fooled and steps into the wrong car.
