Gt4
the GT4 thread has dissapeared and i dont know if ican revive it so im posting here!
I've seen another preview disk of GT4, and on the front cover there is a picture of a Mclaren F1 in the BMW/Fina colours. They also show the researchers taking photos of the cars and there was a Morgan Aero 8 (in 2003 British GT colours) and a road Marcos! Just thought i'd let you know! |

It looks like it's going to be fantastic, although the reports in this months Official Playstation2 mag say the "prologue" version on sale in Japan is damn hard!

damn hard! i wonder is thats gameplay or that they put cars similars to yours in the race!
I'd like them to make the competition relevant to your car, so you cant blitz everything with a polyphony or something similar. |

Yeah, I like the way they set the races in PGR2 on the Xbox actually. A similar system in GT4 would be great.

What it really needs is better AI (a common complaint of mine about racing games) GT2 was very poor on that side of things.
The other serious problem with the GT series is the lack of damage - I know why they don't have it but the ability to smash into the wall at high speed and then carry on as if nothing has happened does spoil the game somewhat. |

It did gave me the opportunity to squirt 1000+ Km/h out of the Escudo.

I've got the GT4 prologue disc. It's both exciting and somewhat dissapointing to me. There is only 2 game modes: driving school (which is pretty darn challenging) and the arcade mode. No simulation mode (no changing setups etc). The AI, I have to say , is improved over GT3, at least the opponents try to avoid you. The game also imposes 50 km/h speed limit penalty for 10 seconds for bad driving (slamming into the wall too hard, hitting other cars too hard...).

so at least they have some reprcussion for crashing which is good, the AI should be a bit more aggressive instead of just simply flawlessly driving, i never see a car try to outbrake me like in SuperTruck racing or in TOCA2, GT series should really step up that is the biggest niggling complaint i have as well

Oh, and I REALLY hope they put some decent historic cars in it as that was one of the disappointments in GT3. I've heard there will be anything from 500 to 1000 cars in GT4 so they're bound to have included a few gems. |

AFAIK, there are only gonna be 500+ cars in the game. As for protos, hmm, I've only seen the Pesca Courage in screenshots (besides the Toyota GTOne and the Nissan R390).

We have only seen a 100 or so max picture of cars currently.
After taking into account the different variations of eveyday cars, that still leaves 100+ racing/exotic cars yet to be revealed. We already know there will be many more classic competition cars. I think it is safe to bet we will see a number of old GT1 cars suchas the Panoz GTR-1, Lotus Elise GT1 etc. The developer has already said they will add more classic LM cars such as the Nissan Group C car, which is similar to the Mazda 787B in GT3. Well as Mercedes and McLaren are both licensed to the game, let's hope for some McLaren Mercedes F1 cars!

And the great CLK-GTR and CLK-LM GT1 cars.
The CLK-GTR was orignally in GT2 (even in official screenshots), but was took out due to licensing issues. |

GT4 car list: http://www.granturismox.net/forum/vi...1357295751116e
Most accurate one out right now, besides Polyphony's. Also, their has been a 355 spotted at a photo shoot. Although, the creator of the series said the licensing for Ferrari, Porsche, Lamborghini, etc. and that he wants GT to have more "realistic" cars that the target age group can buy. |
