Pirelli World Challenge Rounds 11, 12 & 13: Road America

Starting this thread a bit early because I'll be attending and I might not have the time a few days from now!

Next three (yup, three) rounds of the Pirelli World Challenge GT class championship come at what Johnny O'Connell calls everyone's favorite track.

Yep, it's Auto Club Speedway- no wait, it's ROAD AMERICA!

Lot's of wide open spaces around the four miles of pure awesomeness that is America's best racetrack, should be a great venue to watch the GT3 cars do battle! It certainly was fun last year!

In addition to the three GT races, we also get to watch two races for the extremely entertaining GTS class and three for the equally entertaining TC classes! A lot of racing!

A few other interesting notes from the entry list.
Tomas Enge is listed as driver of the #25 Lamborghini. I also notice that Christina Nielsen is entered, despite the Watkins Glen conflict. ???
Perhaps She will race in the Friday and Saturday events before flying to New York. The De La Torre Racing Aston is entered also, so we British motor car fans will hopefully get to see (and hear) at least one V12 Vantage.

Cars or drivers that weren't entered for the second race at Detroit shouldn't be allowed to race the first race at Road America. It's an unfair advantage.

I saw that Realtime was at the track testing today so I assume the track threw in a buy one get one track rental for Peter Cunningham.

I thought this might be Hedlund's car, but it is not.

JD Davison will be at Road America and Kuno Wittmer racing in the TRG Aston GTD car at Watkins Glen..pretty sweet

I think they should, just put them at hte back of the grid based on point standings. Not sure how it's an unfair advantage?

Looking forward to this one.

It will be interesting to see how they do as a stand alone. As I didn't make the sprints this will be my first time out and it should be a great kick off to the season. Also, being that they aren't with nascar they should be able to red flag big incidents. Last year we lost nearly half of race two with that huge incident involving figge and lazarro

Does anybody know how the grid will be set for the Friday make up race?
I would have thought that it would be set via Belle Isle race 1 lap times, but I noticed that the qualifying session for Road America is earlier that day.

They do have fast race laps from Race 1 in Detroit as well, so they could potentially use those, though points are probably more likely.

Gran Turismo MC, but not sure what the original spec is. GTS is practically GT4, so I'm guessing whichever is closest to that? lol

Yeah, and the Mazzer is a particularily confusing car: First there was the GT4, but they didn't sell too many of them and turned them into a single make series, after a while they added a bunch of aero to those and now they are apparently seeking GT4 homologation for the car in its current form again.

That's really cool! Another car (and manufacturer) for the GTS races! Also cool to see Mancuso back, he was pretty impressive in the Ferrari last year.

The article states that Michael Bartels will be driving; however the entry list says that Nick Mancuso will be driving. I wonder why the last minute switch.
