ITV moan/World wide Qual. coverage.
I suppose most of us resident in the UK have by now realised that Qualifying for the US GP won't be live. Sato san not included!
There are not even showing it on ITV2. Although there are, surprisingly, issues here. Anyway individual complaints are apparently the thing that gets these people going. ITV Network Centre 200 Gray's Inn Road London WC1X 8HF T: 020 7843 8000 F: 020 7843 8158 Mon-Fri: 0930-1800 or email your local ITV region http://www.itv.com/page.asp?partid=63&Referer= find your region and use the feedback form. Anyway, as well as have a little moan, I was wondering what coverage was like elsewhere in the world. Checking out the TV listings from the official formula 1 site it appears that almost every country gets it live. http://www.formula1.com/race/tvlist...ylist/32/Z.html However I don't know if these channels listed are free or pay channels etc... you might have guessed it'd be me who started this! Ring them - it is funny. The phone is answered with a disinterested "ITV", no "hello" or "how can I help you".
Anyway I was put through to some (nice) bloke and we had a nice chat about it. All the things that we already knew, but it is nice to get your voice heard. You never know it may make a difference (I doubt it, but you never know). |

I know weve had these comments so many times beofre , buytITV are total pants..they show no real commitment to the sport . They could learn alot from their European colleagues . |

I'd like to write a letter about it as well. It is ridiculous that we don't get it live on ITV1, instead we get the usual pants ITV Sunday schedule which is ****.
Is the delayed coverage thing in operation for the UK feed of the race? I hope not. |

I am pretty sure the race is live live, not delayed live.
It is just the qualifying that is only highlights. |

www.formula1.com, Bernie's site, does live sector times. It's very good, though I've not had to "watch" a race through it.

Funny isn't it, we can remember complicated facts and figures and debate results from years gone by until the cows come home, but when it comes to working out the bloody time we're all flummuxed!

Well it is starting in a minute. you can listen to it on BBC Radio 5 Live Sport Extra. Not on the internet though - only through digital. |

But then is ITV's decision not to show Indy qualifying live any of a surprise? None of the qualifying sessions for any of the races in the Americas (Brazil and Canada as well as Indy) have been live on ITV this year. Canada qualifying has never been live on ITV since they inherited the F1 rights from the BBC. Its not as if new episodes of Coronation Street go out on Saturday evenings. Yet they can't accomodate live F1 qualifying in the Saturday prime time schedules. But it has been worse. Recall in 2000 the Indy race was banished to ITV2. |

If you never took down your old analogue astra dish you can watch practise & qualifying live on the German station DSF, all you have to do is arrange sound from Radio 5 from digital satellite & you've got it made.
