What in your opion is the dullest, poorly supported, badest facilitys track going in CART past & present? That includes facilities for us spectators. Overtaking potetnial, track condition and safety etc?

Nazareth is the most boring and least supported now that Homestead is off the schedule; the poorest in terms of safety and interesting racing are the two superspeedways, both of which have killed people in the very recent past. I'd like to see the end of those two tracks personally but other people like them.

Houston does nothing at all for me. At least some of the sterile Trans-Am type tracks have rail road tracks or bridges over a river or something

I think right now nazareth i the worst track in all means. The track is very tight, not easy to overtake, but it isĀ“nt just that, th drivers have complained about the lack of safety so for me this is the poorest.

A couple of bl;asts from the past.
Worst safety's gotta go to Pocono when CART raced there, boiler plate walss and all. The Glen, unfortunately, has to be a close second. Worst track design, gotta go with the Meadowlands circuit. |

Nazareth, no question is the poorest event.
Although a great event, the Vancouver street track is kind of bland. Laguna Seca doesn't allow any much passing for a road course, but is fun to drive alone. Sort of like the Hungaroring in F1. I tend to agreet that Cart should do away with the Superspeedways. They are very dangerous for everyone involved, and seem an unnecessary risk. Although my opinin is probably biased, I will never watch another 500 miler the same way. Oh yah worst track: Nazareth! Sayonara! |

Yes I agree Superspeedways are dangerous but my what races they are, so much overtaking. I would say they are as dangerous as 1.5 mile ovals but no one wants to get rid of them.

.....well I absolutely love Nazareth and wonder if those who voted against have been there. The worst track for me was that terrible parking lot track at the Meadowlands, remember that one, the cars driving right over the painted squares where people parked their cars when they went to a hockey game? I was glad when they dumped that venue!...

You got it Liz. Those ovals are just too fast. Lets slow the racing down to maybe 150MPH in the name of safety.Lets build some new tracks in countries where the fans apreciate REAL racing.

Best: Long Beach and Fontana (since I live near both tracks and are both excellent places to attend races)
Worst: Can't really say since I've never been to any other tracks |

Or we could just do away with the superspeedways and poorly attended short oval races, and replace them with more international races. I am sure Italy would be a great place for a Cart race, if someone has an oval track there.

Although I'm a road race fan first, doing away with superspeedways would be a huge mistake. The only reason offered for eliminating them is safety. It makes no sense to me. Racing is inherently dangerous. If we eliminated all risk, then we should let the drivers play video racing games to decide the championship.
If we have to eliminate something, get rid of those terrible concrete-tube temporary street courses (Belle Isle, Houston etc) that discourage risk taking and offer poor spectator viewing. |

I'd say Meadowlands was pretty bad.
I like Nazareth, been there & loved the city....hated the 22. Always in construction... |

Although I've been to Naz many times, because it's close to home, it is a boring circuit. It's just too tight and small. But man, how I love going there. 22 is a disaster, but that feeling when you get close to teh track and you can hear the cars running...wow.
