looks like another topsy turvy rally in store - McRae has just retired, Gronholm lost 2 minutes after hitting a rock, Martin has gearbox trouble, etc, etc... and after 9 stages Sainz leads Loeb by 33.2s.
[edit] Correction - Rovanpera is in 2nd place but still over half a minute behind Sainz. Last edited by x_dt; 9 May 2003 at 17:33. |

The ridiculous thing is that Gronholm could still win even after losing 2 minutes! EVERY rally he shoots away into a big lead and half the time he makes a small mistake and usually he gets away with it. He is by far the quickest combo out there but as Bob said he tends to get bored while in the lead!

SS14 has been cancelled due to spectator problems.
SS15 has started but seems to be behind schedule. |

Hold the phone, Sainz was given a one minute penalty for going into the service area without permission. Add insult to injury Sebastian Loeb is out of the rally crashing out on the last stage of the day.
New standings. 1. Martin 2. Gronholm 3. Burns 4. Sainz |

I thought Marcus was out of contention, but he never gave up and won this thing. Too bad for Martin though, could have won the rally, but the Acropolis rally will make Martin a winner next month. Sainz could have won the rally, but his mistake by incurring a one minute penalty for a service violation ended up with second.
