Going to the L&H 500? Circuit grounds condition report.

Hi all, as you know Victoria has had a LOT of rain in the last week. I have just got back from spending a cold wet weekend at the Island for some motorcycle racing, so I am posting this as a public service announcement.

The circuit grounds are the wettest I have ever seen them. There is no way, unless the weather drastically changes you could get cars in on the grass, let alone get them out again.

From what I can gather, talking to a few of the track staff, there will be limited or no parking for the public on the grounds of the circuit. The plan seems to be that public parking will be along Gap Rd. and some other roads.

So, I would suggest some really waterproof shoes and be prepared for a walk.

Of course things may change, and it's not any kind of official position, but that's the way it looked on monday morning.

That's right mate. Trying to get an answer from them about staying in our campervan in the campground, they always make it so awkward. We won't go if we can't stay in our campervan. They want all cars away from camping area in a seperate carpark. Is this a Car race or a bike race where your not suppose to have a car.........

I was there yesterday and it wasn't too bad. Plenty of sunshine and wind was drying it up nicely.

I'll still watch it on TV though.
