Distinct lack of Ford's in the top three. Seton, Radisich and Richard's, pull your finger out! No seriously, the Ford boy's are doing much better this year. Ambrose has been unbelievable. I must admit I am surprised to see Todd Kelly in that list

The rat of course. He is having a bad year, and you would have expected him to be up in the top 10 easily after last years performances.
Ambrose is a bit of a surprise, we all new he was a good driver, byt to adapt that quickly to V8's is just awsome. FTR should be higher up the order than what they are, and more Fords in the top ten.mile: |

I think that Bright, Skaife, Ambrose and Murpf will stay up there and provide the main battles, all running consistently at the moment. Ambrose has certainly cemented his place in the top 5. Ingall I hope will do well, but you never know with him. Kelly is doing better this year, a suprise, has he found form, or is K-mart racing simply providing him with a better team/weapon? Johnson, not consistent enought.
But hey, many rounds to go, the RAT surely must find form soon, and he has had his fair share of bad luck this year. Last edited by nz_tourer; 21 May 2001 at 11:47. |

I must say I'm surprised to see Ambrose doing so well. Time and again we've seen these new young blokes introduced amid a torrent of hype and superlatives, only to disappear in a sea of mediocrity, but Ambrose is surely one out of the box.
Also surprising, is to see Kelly so high up the order, last year I thought he was pretty unimpressive and a waste of a good car. The same could be said of Steve Johnson. He really has improved, but then he had to didn't he? Radisich is obviously a much faster, more talented driver than junior but clearly trailing him in the points. I think this just goes to show, that the poinstcore rewards consistency. A steady driver who's always in the top 10 will ultimately outscore someone who alternates between podiums and DNFs. |
