What happened to the Glebe FF Chassis
Just reading through some old autosports, deciding which to box and put in the garage, and I noted that the Glebe Formula ford chassis was supposed to be at the autosport show in June 2002 and run in scholarship class this year.
I didn't see it ? what happened to it. Any one know anything about it. Also any sign of the Swift Zetec car, or the Kent upgrade kit. |

Thought the one and only Glebe was rolled to destruction in testing...

it was taken over by the guys behind Eclipse Motorsport who race a TVR Tuscan R in the Britsh GT's with Shane Lynch. But the last time I heard was they were looking for drivers to drive it. I guess no career driver was keen to risk driving it? They should try a Kent version.....

The Glebe was just plain slow by all accounts, but I'll ring it's neck if they want. |

As far as I can remember, development is still ploding on, but funds are short.
They had some young lad testing it (can't remember his name) who kept throwing it at the scenery. It had the makings of being a quick car (it looked like it was doing over 100 mph stood still), but I think the Creswells love of single seaters also flagged a bit when Tom (Cresswell) decided he wanted to do rallying rather than single seaters. |

I looked over it last year at the NEC the gearbox was tiny compared to a Hewland LD200
Never heard anything about the chassis being run |

Greg Caton gave the Glebe its first run at Mallory mid season ish, i believe it changed its name to a "Kite" when the project changed hands. George Ryton of F1 fame was initially involved, i'm not so sure he is now....
