A1 GP MSV Double Header
Out of interest -
With the only test available 2 months before the event how many people will be taking the plunge at the A1 GP meeting? I will be having a go as the GP circuit looks like a good challenge. Although the NI, Classic and NWFF Championships have season ending races on the same day? That shouldn't stop the Combe, Midlands and Historic drivers joining in or drivers who have nothing to race for in their respective last rounds. Who else is going to have a go? |

The Classic finale is actually on October 23 - Festival weekend - at Snetterton. From what I am hearing I think the NW grid at Croft may well suffer (a terrible shame).
What will Infiniti do Chris - presumably Neil and Jonny will want to be at Croft as they will be in with a shout of the title almost certainly? |

Jonny and Neil will be at Croft with Brian and me and anyone who wants to join me will be at Brands with Duncan. Well thats the plan anyway!!!
So if anyone wants running at the A1 Gp then call Duncan!! |

What day (Saturday or Sunday) are these other races?
It would be a shame if we get moved to the Saturday (or even Friday) as has happened next weekend because of FF race clashes |

The one thing with the NW Formula Ford, is it won't get hit that hard for Croft. Pre '90 will be as strong as ever and if not, I dare say we with have enough cars to put out at least one full grid If they get combined.
To be honest, the way things are going, anyone in with a shout will have to turn out. Looks like it could go down to the last races of the year. The one thing that could be a factor is a number of drivers will do either the Croft or the Moose. |

I would love to see a draft timetable as all the hotels are booked up by A1 GP teams. I am not sure if we are racing on Friday or Sat or Sunday? Or all or just Sat or just Sunday????
At this rate I will be staying in London!!! |

Perhaps you could sleep in the car Chris? Not the Van Diemen obviously!
Still not seen any sign of a timetable, perhaps I should get our MSV correspondent onto the case. He'll probably be staying with family down there! |

I would love to do this event, is BRSCC membership required?
A full grid of 38 FF1600 would look great, if non BRSCC members are welcome then I am sure some of the Historic & Classic drivers would enter, it would be a show case grid for a showcase event. |

I would imagine BRSCC membership would be required as it is a normal BRSCC championship round. Entry fees are a relatively good value £175 for qualifying and two races, however. I would expect the grid to be well-subscribed.

Well, since I made the last post on this thread we now know that entry fees will be £250.
Anyway, my reason for posting is that I have contacted MSV regarding the timetable. I understand that it is being worked on ready for approval by A1GP, but still nothing definitive as yet. I pointed out that the sooner it is released the better as there are plenty of other events people may wish to take part in that weekend. |

I'd like to see a time-table before committing. But am I correct in sensing that maybe interest is waning?

you can see it now Mark, £250 to enter positioned at the back of the paddock with qualifying on Friday morning at 9am with race 1 at 6pm on Sat and race 2 at 6pm on Sunday....
It does seem a while to get a time table out. The BGP starts promotion months in advance. I emailed MSV 1 month ago for the timetable and I was told that it was ready and just needed to be signed off. We are still waiting 1 month later. I have also been waiting for 3 months in getting £100 back from MSV after they put my credit card through 3 times when I bought 4 tickets for friends at one of the early OP rounds. I have had to call over 10 times and sent over 6 faxes and every time I get the same responce - please can you fax it to such a person..... It is lucky I check all my accounts as imagine how many people don't notice....and you wonder why they can afford to sponsor a championship Any way enough of my rant I am off to OP |

Good point Chris. Whatever times are allocated, I don't really fancy it if qualifying & both races aren't on the the same day, and I think that's very unlikely. I hadn't really thought about it before so thanks for making me think before blindly sending off an entry form.

Chris - of course you will be somewhere out in the sticks of the paddock, and you wouldn't expect anything else when you're one of the support races with other events (GTs, FPA) above you in the pecking order. What did you expect, the garages? |

That would probably work out okay if qualifying was on Saturday morning, race one Saturday afternoon and race two Sunday morning. That would be as good as anyone could reasonably expect.
