perhaps for qualifying, but for the race i think it'll be close. not entirely sure who's going to provide the challenge from the bf3 field, but i think it'll be from a 2nd year driver rather than a first.

i personally reckon british f3 is at its lowest strengh (both drivers and teams) for years. i dread it happening but i can smell an all euroseries top ten...

i think (hope) bruno senna might pull something unusual out of the bag, and if dirani's on the ball he should do well too. manor should be good, signature should be good, asm will be good, but below that... it's anyone's guess. that covers the top 6 or so.

thanks, stranger.
dirani managed 17th then... not looking promising (then again, adrian sutil finished 20th so there's hope yet...). so there's more cars entered than last year? promising |

...but only 36/37 are allowed to start the race, so some pack their bags early.

Last year Cloosterman/Bonanomi (both Ghinzani), Nunez/Elkmann (both Swiss Racing Team) failed to qualify as well as Cressoni (Ombra).

Less unkind, too. I'll say Hamilton for pole, just to go for the obvious! These international races are strange, though. They don't always work out as the form book suggests, e.g. Jamie Green last year.

well last year it was all about asm. i mean premat and salignon are decent drivers but they aint as good as some of those who finished behind them....carroll, rossiter...
green would have been up there but he didnt turn it on in qualifying and had a messy race fighting with piquet. from what i remember, hamilton did very well last year topping the early sessions so it would be hard not to put your money on him when he is driving for the team that guarantees success. as for the british guys, always at disadvantage i would say dirani, parente and asmer are the main threats. p1 boss roly vincini said last year that considering carroll was the only driver who could see the asm cars as they went off into the distance, with more time to get used to kumho tires he would have won...and obviously i agree so now they know what kumhos are like! maybe dirani could win this! |

oh and as for british drivers, wow last year had had 5 brits in the top ten. i guess that backs up my claim that british motorsport as far as driving talent goes is on a big high at the moment!

With Monaco this weekend (for Euro) it makes me wish it was an open event like Zandvoort and Macau. Imagine the madness of 40 guys trying to pre-qual at Monaco

I'm guessing that Monkey Head isn't thinking about pole there. Just a hunch.
