New RS Spyder Team
Hi
This is my first post so hope nobody beats me to this. Mariantic have announced the name of the new RS Spyder team but has anyone noticed the name of their race engineer on their website? One Huit Wiedekoper (not a common name), so does this mean the new british LMP1 project is dead? completed? or never actually existed? answers on a postcard please. |

Credit indeed to DSC, but they are now asking for real username & password details so I didn't see the story there. Mariantic |

I know everyone knows this, but DSC is an awesome site. I check it 5 times a day.
Thanks Graham. |

Since apparently this team doesn't even have their facilities built, I assume this will be the team with the 6th RS Spyder, possibly for Petit, and not the team getting the 5th RS Spyder for Utah?

What seems to be known... They are not the 5th Spyder. The team getting the 5th Spyder, has been said to be getting two... perhaps #5 and #6. Perhaps there is some confusion around this... or not. |

I would think a race team that doesn't even have a shop built yet can't expect to be on the grid this year. Maybe an RS Spyder for next year then?

So this would be the seventh then? In that case, it's definitely not for this year since Porsche said they're done building Spyders for 2007 after completion of the sixth. Number 5 was going to mystery team for use later this year, and #6 is supposed to go to that same team later on.

Conzus Motorports is not the purchaser of the Spyder pictured (in recent articles), a car which will soon be delivered to another team. Conzus has just broken ground on a new shop in Homestead, Florida, and since they will not make an initial payment to Porsche until May, no build-up of their Spyder has yet begun. This is the team that Murphy said would be disappointed if Hartmut’s comments about the two pictured chassis going to the same team, and being the last to be built this year were correct, because they (Conzus Motorsport) are not that team. That is what the Bear hears, anyway. So we still don’t know what team will debut at Miller Motorsport Park. The saga continues. http://murphythebear.com/blog/ |
