Skaife to buy HRT???

Just reading the latest issue of Motorsport News which suggests that Mark Skaife may be buying HRT. Whether this is true or not I don't think it would be a wise move as owner/driver situations don't work anymore. ie Glenn Seton and Skaife when he was half owners of Gibson Motorsport. I think they should look outside of the team, (which I'm sure will happen) Any thoughts??

Owning and running a team are two different things I think.

Ownership is one thing, but I would imagine that management will remain largely unaltered.

Remember it is about whose name is on the ownership papers, not who actually runs and finances the team.

You might be right Scott, because if the rumors are true, Skaife is Crennan's love child!

But seriously guys, is TEGA going to ban HRT over the ownership thing or about TWR running 3 teams. I thought it was cause of the ownership problem but it's sounding like the 3 TWR teams.

I don't remember that, Scott75. When was Skaife part owner and how did he come to be that?

I thought he was a shareholder of some sort in Gibson Motorsport, not a very major one, maybe even up until the time Dumbrell bought it in 1999.

If the Skaife did buy it it would be in name only. No-one's jobs would change at all, that would be part of the sale. I can see them selling it to Skaife or Grech for $1, that gets around the rule.

Plus they could probably sell Team Brock or Kmart to someone (say Brock) for $1 again. That way they get around the 4 car rule.

Just what would they have to sell of Team Brock. A couple of cars, some spares and some technology i guess. They wouldn't actually own much more than that would they.
Jason Bright although contracted to TWR (now Holden owned) could still drive for Brock.

And a comedian as well if he expects us to believe that.

What about the ownership of HSV Special Vehicles? Is it owned by HRT, or does HRT own it, or were the two companies owned by TWR and now both separate entities owned by Holden?

HSV is a weird one... the name, brands, devices etc are owned by Holden.

A company called Premoso P/L, owned allegedly by TW's Riverson Ltd in the UK, has the contract to engineer, certify and ultimately build 'special' cars for Holden

Holden own the cars, the dealer places the order for the car, HSV build it and deliver it, the dealer pays for the car, the funds are split between HSV and Holden...

This business is not related any more to "Symbol" the business formerly known as TWRA
