Audi considers BTCC return in 2005
MN are doing well these days - 3 manufacturers in 3 weeks they have reported as returning/entering the BTCC.
Latest one is Audi who say they are considering running an A4 in the BTCC - but as they'd need to develop the car an entry in 2005 looks the most likely. They already have a privateer A4 running in Sweden to ETCC spec but it isn't homologated - I wonder if they did enter the BTCC if they'd simply use an ETCC spec car? |

I'd love to see them back in the BTCC. I hope this is true and we will be seeing them in 2005!

However, when is the A4 due to be replaced? It seems like a waste to develop a A4 bodystyle that will be soon superseded by a newer one? |

So I guess it's worth the time/money/effort to develop the current bodystyle. Over here, Mazda is just starting to see the fruits of the labour with the Protege/Familia and a new model is appearing for '05! Hopefully, they will start nice and early for the '05 Protege.

An Audi return why not? Bentley's Le Mans project ended this year and the Audi R8 LMP (Le Mans car) of Audi UK is in 2005 also severeal years old. So they can spend money and people to run a touring car project.
